we adopted him on saturday and he is a good kitty!  he is very friendly, but doesn't really want to be held.  any time we go to hold him, he squirms out of our arms and goes someplace else.  I'm sure being a feral probably has to do with it and perhaps he isn't so sure about it?  he isnt' afraid of us though!  about once a day I am able to snuggle him for a little bit.   I'm not sure if it is just his personality and he isn't a cuddler, or if it is because he came from a feral colony.  thoughts?  he is very playful and plays quite hard :)

I am just glad he has a nice home with lots of love!!!!!

How old is he?   Is he taken in direclty from the outside, or had someone fostered him?

Anyways, a tip is, if he let you take him up, held him up just a short moment, and let him back down preferably BEFORE he begins to wriggle.  And at very latest, as soon he begins to wriggle.

This way, he learns soon, its nothing bad to being taken up and held - if he gets enough, you let him down immeidately.

he was fostered for about a week before we adopted him.

good tip!  that's what I've been telling the kids, but they're getting a little frustrated about it, they just want to hold him.  I don't want him to think being held is a bad thing!  I am trying to pick him up frequently and give him a quick kiss and rub his head a little and then put him down. I am hoping little by little he will last longer :)
