Hi,
My 1 year old male cat came inside a few days ago with a patch of fur missing and some blood on his neck. Since them it has gotten a scab and it looks like a normal scab except it's black! And has gotten a bit bigger (it's about a few centre meters big). He's scratched the fur off underneath it and I couldn't get a good photo because there's hairs on it and I don't want to move them and hurt him. I've searched google and can't find any information about this! I've concluded that it's not feline acne, a spider bite, or a snake bite. I don't know what it is, I've never seen anything like this before! I tied a bit of cloth around his neck before so he couldn't scratch it more. We're going to the vet tomorrow, but I was wondering if anything has seen or heard of anything like this before!

There is really no way we can tell what it is via the internet, and honestly I can't tell anything from the picture, can't even tell which end is up...sorry.

How did you deduce this is NOT a spider bite?  I would think it could be just about anything except perhaps not a snake bite if there aren't TWO holes (just guessing because it's even possible a snake only got one fang in)

Until your Vet visit, I would make sure to keep it clean, and if you have any neosporin, it's ok to use that on it. (NOT neosporin plus)   I'm guessing he can't reach it with his tongue?

I looked up spider bites In cats and it didn't look like what Coconut has, and he doesn't have the symptoms! Thank you for your answer anyway, we're gonna take him to the vet within the next few hours
I don't have any of that unfortunately I'll just have to see what the vet says!

This is a picture of his neck now!
We went to he vet and it turns out it wasn't a scab at all, it was dead skin :/ the vet cut it off and gave him an injection that lasts two weeks which is the equivocation of is giving him oral antibiotics
The vet said it was most likely caused from a really bad cat bite that got infected and we have to wash it with salt water twice a day, but he should be fine! :)

Holy cow!  If that was from another cat, looks like he was out for the kill

Do YOU have other cats,  or do you have any idea who that other cat might be?  Is your boy fixed?  This is what can happen when two Toms fight

There is another cat but he doesn't fight with her,
There is a male cat in the street that I know he fights with and they follow each other! He's not desexed yet (I know I should have done it ages ago, I'm really regretting I didn't get it done sooner), but as soon as he's healthy enough I'm booking him in to get it done! He's staying inside until that can happen as well, which he doesn't like but it's for his own safety because I couldn't imagine what would happen if I were to let him out and he got in a fight and messed up his neck even more!

Good that you are keeping him inside until he's neutered.  I bet that's the issue.  Two Toms fighting
.  Thankfully it's not too bad and he's still got both his eyes and both ears
