@StefanZ  I didn't know that about neutering. Good to know!

No the x-ray wasn't free. They charged me for two actually. The first one came out blurry, so they retook it. I agree it was worthless in this case.

Oh yes, when the kittens are born I intend to let the vet know they have arrived!

They should not have charged you for a blurry x-ray!

You sound very well prepared for your kittens :).

Your vet sounds seriously awful. A frontal x-ray sounds odd to me (they take from the side to be able to count), he charged you for a blurry xray, and even if the xray didnt show they could have at least felt or already seen your cat is pregnant. A little more service from their side would have been appropriate.

I hope everything will go well, i'll look forward to meeting your kittens! If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask ;)

Thank you! I am sure I will have questions along the way. I agree a little more service on their end would have been appreciated. I feel like I literally threw the money down the toilet. I took my cat into the vet with the best of intentions. I feel very down about the whole thing.

I had no idea that the x-rays should be side views, rather than a frontal. I was so shocked by the way they were acting that I just wanted to get out of there rather than argue about paying for a blurry x-ray.

When I think about it though, when I cancelled her spay,  and again when I took my male in for his neuter, they were trying to convince me to go ahead and have her spayed even if she was pregnant. They seemed disproving when I told them I could never do that. When I took her earlier this week they did mention again to spay her now since her x-ray didn't show any babies.

When I think about it now, it really upsets me. She is so obviously pregnant for one thing. The attitude of the vet and techs and the way the x-rays were done, no palpitation pregnancy exam, trying to push me to have her spayed now, etc really made me wonder because of how disproving they were when I opted to wait to spay her. I have been going there awhile and they have never acted that way before. So yes, the more I think about it, the more it upsets me.

I have a question. My Indipoo has been eating voraciously for the past few weeks. Today she isn't eating much at all.
Is that normal?

I don't think it's anything to worry about. They sometimes eat less as they get bigger and more uncomfortable and closer to delivering.

Indipoo update - I think we may be getting close to kitten time.

The kittens seem to be dropped lower and Indipoo has been having loose stools today.

No sign of any discharge yet.

Excited, but kind of scary too. I can see clear outlines of one of the kittens at times - invluding the little head. Looks to be close to 5 inches long. The head looks to be the size of a quarter, or a little bigger.

Is that normal sized for full-term kittens?

That is a relief because these kittens are definately lower down. I am pretty sure they have dropped.

My girl's mood is up and down like a yoyo today. One minute grumpy, the next all loving. Restless and anxious other times.

Wanted her tummy rubbed, which is a bit unusual for her. She is stretching a lot while laying on her side. Everytime she does you can see how close to her lower legs the kittens have moved.

She may be in stage one labor today. She may have her kittens during the night or in the morning. Have you seen her tummy ripple in waves at all? If so, those are contractions.

We have seen ripples near her lower legs, but I thought it was her kittens moving. I did notice her tummy is very firm, but sometimes soft.

I posted a picture. Her right side especially has dropped very low to her rear end.

Well, we'll have to wait and see, but it sure sounds like something is going on.

I am with you hteft! last day I believe my cat to have mated was june 9th and she is off and on displaying signs of starting the process. she also has started rolling over for belly rubs (this is something she NEVER EVER EVER wants. ever. don't even think about touching her tummy or your gonna have some nice cat claws and teeth in your hand!) Hopefully the waiting game will be over for us soon! I am so excited I just know my lil one (also a tortie) is going to do it while I'm at work. Id be estatic to be kept up all night and go in exhausted just so I can be here and make sure everything goes well.

Oh @jjbutterflyI know what you mean! My girl was in heat between June 8 - 12th. Waiting isn't easy. I know I want to be home too to make sure everything goes well. Hope your kittens get here ok and SOON :)
