They were up fussing earlier. Latched on for 5 mins but they did get chilled so now are warmed.

I'm really shocked no vet will see you. The kitten with the paw missing needs medical care, and I think the 2nd one does need to be looked at too as it's still not drinking. Even if there isn't anything they can do, they can put them down on a humane and fast way, rather than putting them in a plastic bag (I seriously can't believe they even suggested that ...)

The best you can do, if really no vet will see you (Really, call them again and tell them you are coming whether they want it or not), is keeping them comfortable. Keep them warm, and you can try feeding the kittens. I'm not sure what's wrong with the second one, so maybe that one will do better after being fed.

Also, keep a very good eye on mom as long as the kittens are near her. I am feeling uncomfortable with them close to her.

I'm really sorry you are going through this.

Warmed is good, maybe that's the reason they didn't drink yet. Try latching them on again if mom allows and doesn't try to hurt them.

An emergency vet will see the kitten. What exactly are you saying to the vets over the phone?

If you do not wish to pay to save the kitten, it needs to be put down. But not in a plastic bag. That is extremely cruel and very unprofessional of the vet to suggest it.

I'm sorry things are so rough right now. This must be difficult to deal with.

I wouldn't count on it. But the vet will see the kitten, maybe he can see something that can be done to save him/her.

Your partner will take care of that kitten, it's time for you to focus on the other kitten. It needs to eat something and get more lively than it is right now.

I hope they will at least try then. I dont understand why some vets are so quick to write off baby kittens.
The other one is warmer but going to give it another 20 mins or so to make sure warm enough to eat. Bit more active as it warms up

It's getting more active, which is good. Hopefully it'll start crying for food soon and mom's instincts will kick in and it can drink and become a big and healthy kitten!

Yeah, that's what I was replying on :) It's getting more lively, which is a good sign. I think it's starting to feel "better" so hopefully you don't even need to feed it yourself. But if so, another 20min will be okay. It's not preferred, but you need to be sure it's warm enough before attempting to feed it.

I am sorry for taking so long to update you! It has been a crazy afternoon. I really need help too, and really am grateful for all the help so far! It means a lot to me.

My partner took the injured kitten to 2 ER vets and 1 regular vet that was open on Saturday. Each one said they do not treat kittens that young. We finally found an ER vet 20 miles away that would and they said there was nothing that could be done, so the kitten had to be put down.

Kenzi has been acting crazy. She obviously was still laboring, but stopped. I can feel two more kittens inside of her, they are moving around. She is still a bit dilated, but her labor seems to have stopped. But she is very agitated, but yet affectionate and purring madly. The other two kittens are not in the birth canal. You can see and feel them moving in her belly.

She has zero interest in the other kitten and I am thinking I know why. First off I have been feeding/trying to feed baby every hour. He did poop and pee for me. But I am having a very hard time getting anything into him. I was able to get these amounts of KMR into him as follows:

.4 ml @ 4:00 PM
1.7 ml @ 5:10 pm  - was more than  an hour because he was pooping majorly

.4 ml @ 6:15 pm

.4 ml @ 7:15 pm

.4 ml @ 8:15 pm

I finally was able to get Kenzi settled down enough to where I could weigh this baby. He only weighs in at 2.8 ounces. I am thinking the two born today are premies.

I am very concerned, I am having a hard time keeping him warm even with the heating pad. The part of his body laying where the heating pad is, is nice and warm, but the other side of his body is cool.

He seems weak to me. Is there anything at all I can do for him? I know with my fosters when we had fading kittens we added sugar to formula for energy. Not sure if that would work this young.

The kittens have fur in the picture so I don't think they are preemies.

Would it help to put a fleece blanket over the kitten to hold in some heat from the pad?  At the rate the kitten is eating it will get barely 1/2 of what it needs.  Aim for 22.4 ml over 24 hours or 1 ml every hour to make it easier.

I'm so sorry the other kitten couldn't be helped.  If they were born early it could be a couple days before she delivers the other 2.
