No discharge at all. As far as I can tell she isn't dialating.

Just nesting and eating a lot.

I think she has a few more days to go. She should begin exhibiting signs of impending labor sometime next week.

Post signs when you see them.

Will you be using the vet who took the x-rays or have you found a new vet?

I really do not feel comfortable taking her back there after the way they treated us. I have been looking into vets in this area so I am unsure at this point where to take her.

I am going to contact the vet from where we used to live and see what they recommend regarding vets in this area. The clinic we used in our old town sponsors the rescue group that I fostered for. I did a lot of fostering of orphaned bottle-fed kittens from newborn on up. Since we moved, I only foster for them occasionally being that it is 75 miles away.

It didn't occur to me to contact them and ask until my friend with the rescue contacted me asking me if I could take in a foster that I had fostered in the past. (The second pregnant cat I posted about. ) I will get the recommendation from my old vet and go from there.

I would really love to take her up to see my old vet, but I feel the drive would be too stressful on her and the kittens.

Yes, 75 miles is a long way to go for a vet visit. Hopefully they'll have a recommendation for you.

I want you to have a vet ready in case you need one, and I agree that a different vet is in order. Try to work this out early in the week, or at least know the location of the nearest emergency vet. Hopefully their services won't be needed, but it pays to be prepared.

I agree. I am calling first thing tommorow and asking them. I do know where the emergency vet is and have their number too. Hopefully everything will go smoothly.

Sorry hteft.. Since our dates are so close I'm starting to think I also may need to make a vet apt. Sshe was displaying minimum signs off and on about a week ago and nothing really since then. There is a little bit of discharge but nothing to get excited about. I think I'm just going to make her an apt today and maybe I'll get lucky and come home from work and there will be kittens! Fingers crossed for u hteft! This is for sure nerve racking. Kitten is still playing, eating, and going to the bathroom normally and the kittens are still pretty active so I hadn't really worried too much till now.

I have found a vet on recommendation and was wondering, should I make her an apt or wait a few more days?

I think you might want to take her in to get established. We're not really sure how far along she is. They may be able to do a proper x-ray to make a determination. I think it will ease your mind.

Ok will call tomorrow when they open and get an appt.

Question, her nipples seem to have changed overnite. They were already big, but now they are raised up with the area surrounding them also raised. The shape looks like a bottle. Is that milk coming in?

Question, is this the start of labor?

I had something odd happen here and was wondering if this could be the start of labor. Indipoo used the litter box and had stool on her rump. Her belly is so big that she has a hard time washing. So I got a tissue and cleaned her off. Usually she gets up and moves and doesn't want me to wipe her off.

This time, she did the oddest thing. She raised up on her hind legs the way they do when they are in heat. She kept moving her legs the way they do when they are in heat, and let out the oddest sound. She kept trying to get me to rub her lower belly right above where the vulva is for 2 or 3 mins. Then she stopped. I noticed there was a bit of moisture on the second tissue from her vulva.

She actually let me look at it and I can't tell if it is bigger. I am wondering is this how labor sometimes starts?

It does sound as though she may be in stage one labor, and having discharge.

Are you home with her today?

She may not need the vet check if she's progressing.
