We are moving (again), this time to an in-town place. It is a house divided into two apartments and we've got the downstairs one. There is a lovely, small side yard and narrow backyard area that looks perfect for a cat enclosure! I'm thinking the entry point can be from a window, with a ramp down into the yard. A separate garage is behind the house, just close enough to run heavy duty chicken fencing between the two buildings. We have some thick, wire fencing, with 2"x 3" rectangular openings, left over from chicken coop construction that should work perfectly.

I'm looking at the site articles about cat enclosures and doing some Googling, but am wondering if anyone has some 'Do's and Don'ts' advice for me. What designs have worked best for you, and what things turned out to be a waste of time? We've built three different chicken coops in the last two years, so I know nothing can compare to good, old fashioned, trial-and-error experience when making these types of things. I'd love to hear about your cat enclosure and see pictures of what you have built!
