I just called Hissy to wish her a Happy New Year and to complain about my SUN BURN that I got today... She started laughing and informed me that she was looking for her front yard because it was under a blanket of SNOW and it is not supposed to be snowing in that part of Oregon... LOL!!! Needless to say, she told me if I come and make snow angels in her front yard , it should relieve my sun burn pain... She said that when she woke up this morning she thought Mike had moved her back to Alaska while she slept!

Check out her front yard -

Kim, it looks like Hissy might want you to come and help with the shoveling too!!! After you've finished with that you can make snow angels!

There's a kitty sitting in Hissy's window, I wonder if it's one of the Trips.

ROTFL, Lorie!! By gosh there is a cat in that window. I'm not surprised though, she did say that ALL of the cats are in the house getting warm and cozy. As far as shoveling goes...the only thing I have ever shoveled is cat poo out of the litter boxes, LOL.. ..I am such a boring Floridian...

I spend many hours in the sun but have never been burnt.
But I do use sunblock. I finally found one that I'm not allergic to. YAY!!

Try some Aloe Vera gel. It's soothing and cool. And for extra relief, put it in the fridge.

Hmm....So that's where my order for snow ended up, in Oregon! Mother Nature sure doesn't know the difference between Australia and Oregon. Snow would be lovely over here!!

Actually...I did just that - later, of course. I really screwed things up because I had taken antiboitics in the week, then decided it was "cool enough" (80º) to cruise in my friend's car with the top down ... am I paying for it now!! (Duh!)

It's snowing again! We have lost 4 trees already- they were near the creek bank and the weight of the snow just toppled them over, our creek is now headed to our neighbor's front door, and there is little we can do to stop it!

Ha ha ha! Kim, that's great!
It has been really warm down here in sunny Florida hasn't it?!?
I do miss the snow though, after being in Florida for three years, I miss the season's but not the cold. Once in a while snow would be nice.
I know I have asked you this before, but where do you live in Florida in relation to Ft. Lauderdale area?

Hissy, can I come over too? I want to visit the snow!

I think it's beautiful. I'd love to see some snow once in a while. It rained in Los Angeles this morning. I think rain is so dreary. I'd love to see some beautiful white snow on the ground.

Ginger - I live in Central Florida and I am about 3 hours from Ft. Lauderdale.

HEY MA! The creek is heading towards your front door???????? OMG! Does this mean water could come in your home or flood your land??? Gosh, I hope you don't get any property damage from this!!

Vinegar, Kim, vinegar. Soak a cloth in vinegar and put it on your sunburn. It will take the heat out, and you'll feel better. (You'll smell like an Easter egg, but there are tradeoffs in everything.)

No it's our neighbors who have a home down near the back pasture where the creek is- was.... it has overflowed and the weight of the tree roots broke open the bank and made a new path for the water to travel- thankfully their home is up off the ground so here's hoping

When we were kids and got really severe sunburns, my mother put vinegar and baking soda on us. The combination of the two, will not only give you relief, but prevent blistering.
