I'm 57, have been rescuing cats, dogs and horses for over 20 years. Last year my mother rolled her car over, I had told her sooo many times not to drive after dark! She is in pretty good shape, but I had to become her 24/7 caregiver.
I have 14 kitties, that I will have to use quite a few posts to introduce!
Tweety Bird is on my lap right now, so I should start with her!

I have got to dig through my multiple files to be precise but, it's been around 10 years since finding Bird a a convenience store. I had made a wrong turn, coming home from an auction and stopped to get
directions. This darling kitten kept winding around my ankles. I asked about her, to find out she had been hanging around for days. The clerk was giving her food, but had no idea where she came from. I tried to pick her up and she flew away, hence the name Tweety Bird. I could pet her with one hand easily, but reach with two and she ran.
I finally managed to catch her and get her, with me, into the car. Drove the rest of the way home. I live in southern Kansas, picked her up in northern Oklahoma. Called home and had Mom ready with a carrier. Carefully opened the window, just far enough to quickly get the carrier in. The rest is history!
It took years before I could pick her up easily, only a couple that she will jump into my lap. Her behavior looks too much like she had been abused and it has taken this long to really trust.
