Everyone knows that cats make the best alarm clocks, because their snooze button requires going all the way to the kitchen.

I'm curious about how different models convey their Wake-up and Feeeeeed Meeee!!!! message. Do you get endless meows in the morning? A paw to the face? A lump on your chest that *stares* at you until you wake up and do as it commands?

Tucker steals heating vent covers and chews on them/bangs them against the wall until I get up to feed him (it's very effective and as he only does it in the morning and loses all interest as soon as the food is out I know that's exactly why he's doing it)

So, how do your furry alarm clocks wake you up?

Charvone has taken to walking across me back and forth these past few days while meowing loudly. He continues to step on my stomach even after I say "OUCH!" loudly and roll over. If I have any hands exposed, he headbutts it and walks under it. He also likes to touch his cold, wet nose to my nose if he thinks I'm still asleep.

Sakura-chan is usually curled up nearby, waiting for me to get out of bed. She gets up as soon as I so much as open my eyes and tries to lead me away from any detours (like the bathroom) and straight into the kitchen. Sometimes if she's really hungry, she'll hop on the bed and start meowing like Charvone.

Robin sits next to my pillow and taps on my shoulder with his paw. But I'm lucky because he's just not one of those super-insistant cats. If he really wants my attention he becomes "accidentally clumsy". [emoji]128527[/emoji] You know, " What, I just happened to put my paws all over you as I walked to the other side of the bed??" I've never really had a cat go bonkers on me for breakfast, perhaps owing to my partial hearing loss, which kinda negates my rewarding them for noisy behavior. [emoji]128513[/emoji]

My cat isn't as insistent either. But he'll do one of 3 things (or all). 1) Walk across my chest to my side and stick his wet nose on my face, 2) Flop his butt next to my head and wiggle his tail so it tickles my neck, and/or 3) knead the ever-loving guts out of me (literally and most painful way to wake up
).

I love it all even though the third one is painful. He's not a cuddly cat so I soak up these morning moments as much as I can, even if I have a really full bladder. If I don't wake up/get up, he'll usually just leave and go sit back in his box or window seat and wait for me. Or, if push comes to shove, he'll sit in front of my mom's bedroom and wait for her to deal the goods (food) LOL!

lol!!

I had a cat who'd ever-so-gently touch my bottom lip with one single claw. Another who learned where the human bladder was, or who had to have known, the little bugger, coz he'd paw there. Another cat would sleep on my back, back when I was young enough to sleep on my stomach. He weighed 19 pounds, so that sure got my attention, haha.

OUCH! The bladder!!!!

Oh yeah, my cat is heavy (16 pounds) and his tiptoeing across my body is anything but tiptoeing!

Oh my! I have four little alarm clocks, but only two that are consistent. Mitten will nip my toes, while Pumpkin sits on the pillow above my head and pulls at strands of my hair. This usually works, because it quickly becomes painful. My other two little alarm clocks are just as likely to oversleep as I am. I wake up with them purring next to me. Such different personalities! :)

My cat Yuki is also not very insistent but occasionally he will walk over head butt my face until I open my eyes and then stare down at me and meow. It's hard to be grumpy about waking up to his cute face staring back at me. Usually I ignore him and then he'll lay down next to me. This morning he decided to try out a new technique and started licking my hand, let's hope he doesn't keep that one up!

The gentle paw to the face is the most adorable. I awww's just reading about it.

19 lbs! I can't imagine. I had a giant cat like that growing up but he generally wouldn't sit on you. Current kitty is just under 7 lbs but I swear he transmutates into a feline brick and doubles in weight every night around four am. (He loves sleeping on me, and even if it's a bit painful I let him. I'm such a pushover)

Awww. Four adorable alarm clocks. I love how two just can't be bothered. There have been a few mornings when I guess my alarm went offtoo early. Alas, instead of justignoring it Tucker went and sat on top of itand muffled the sound. He's too smart for his own good sometimes...

My room is kinda of small . So what my cat does is Jump from the table to the chair and onto me (repeat x10000000) until i get up.

She will bite my hair to try and "pull" me out of bed.

today i was on meds , feeling drowsy . I think she thought i was dead. Went over to bite my feet just to reassure herself -_- oh god why

LOL, I am loving these!!

My cats are usually pretty good about not waking me up aggressively, but they do hint.

Monet would lick my face or hair because he knows I pull away every time. He would also find stuff in my night table and cause trouble (IE, licking my water bottle or lotion cap..). and the occasional taps.

If he really wants me up, he will race across the bed and jump hard on me. But it's rare he does that.

Cassie would sit, stare and give her silent meow.

Our cat wants to wake us up in the morning sometimes, not because he wants to be fed (he has dry food out all night and cannot be convinced to eat  any wet food) but because he wants out of our bedroom. We keep the cats confined to our room at night since the dog and kitten still have to be supervised around each other. He goes for the old meowing trick and escalates to more meows and louder ones as he wants to go out there more. Usually, he has a snooze button though because if I say "Carrot, Not Yet." He will stop meowing for a while.

The kitten tries to wake me up in the night for more playtime even though we play all the way up till bedtime. She has many methods. She will come over and meow in my face, or tap me with one of her paws, or lick my lips, or chew on my chin, or drape herself over my face. Luckily, if I pet her a few times and roll over she usually decides to snuggle instead.

Last night, they both decided they were in a playful mood. They did zoomies over the bed until my fiance got up and informed them it was still bedtime.

Angel varies on his ways to get me up. Sometimes, I guess when he must be really hungry, I will get the constant meowing. Other times, he has sat beside my head & given me a gentle tap or two. Sometimes on my cheek, & sometimes on my nose, as if to say, "Pssst, mom, it's breakfast time, get up."  Usually, it's pretty close to the time my alarm is going to go off, so I get up, or say, okay, just a few more minutes...

Sometimes when I get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, or early, early morning, he will sit there in the hall, waiting for me to make my way to the kitchen, I just look at him & say, "No, it's still night, night time."  Then try to get him to come cuddle.

Frankie used to wake me up with a cold nose to my eye !!!! A loud purr...... and if all else failed he would start pulling my hair by biting on it.  He has simmered down though these past few years.  He knows his schedule.

Xena is another story.  She will meow constantly !!!!! But she is adorable !!!! She will deliver one of her toys to me ( always one of the tinsel like balls ) like she is giving me me a trophy from a fresh kill.  She will not stop until I actually look at her.  Once I look at her she jumps up on the bed as if to hurry me along.  I always go.... always complain..... however I will always look forward to those moments.  I love my furbabies !!!!!!

Aw, I'm loving these stories.
My current twosome have only been here a short while and last night was the first time I tried letting them into our room (we've been having some litter-training issues) so no alarm-clock stories yet.  Although, I did wake up in the middle of the night wondering why it got so hot in the room when I realized one of the kitties was lying right in front of my mouth and I was breathing in its fur.  ha ha

My old cat  would come in, sit beside the bed and meow and then jump and swat my face.  It was always so unexpected I would scream --so, of course--she kept on doing it!  When she was a kitten she once licked my eyelids.

Of my 3 cat alarms, the bladder smasher is the most dangerous model. He likes to climb on my stomach, knead at my chest with his front paws with his back legs set right on my bladder while head-butting me. One time he did this and it was very early morning and very dark still. I got up to go to the restroom and ran into the wall corner that I had mistaken for the bathroom door in the dark. I cut my forehead and now have a scar. I no longer wake up early for that model. I can't be mad at him though because he's so darn cute and sweet.

My girl cat also uses the head-butt feature, but it's the side head-butt, not face head-butt. Then she jumps off the bed and tries to lead me out towards the kitchen. If I don't get up, she just runs laps around the room for a bit before coming back to bed.

The other boy, has a howling feature. He howls from the other room he has to sleep in at night (because he fights with the other 2). His howl alarm also goes off if I try to take naps on the couch.

Mia will keep meowing super loudly in my face, bat at my head, head butt, and play with or even chew on my hair.  She will find my face or my head even if I put it under a pillow.  She can keep this up for hours.

Chessy sits patiently and quietly nearby watching this happen.

Had a lovely experience with Xena today.  Xena doesn't like to be cuddled nor picked up. However, she likes to be rubbed for short periods of time.  Today, Xena woke me up by head butting my hand so that I could rub her.  She didn't want to eat, or for me to get out of bed.  Just wanted some of my attention.  These moments don't come very often so I laid their with her and happily rubbed her.  She was in kitty heaven and so was I !!!!
I ended up being a few minutes late for work but it was totally worth it !

Luckily for me I didn't usually have to get up an give Max his breakfast cos Dad did that. Dad was always up early, he would get up  and let Max (usually waiting uncharacteristically patiently by the door) out of my room give him his breakfast and open the catflap, so after eating a going out then he would come back up to me and either have a post-breakfast nap with me or he would start patting my face, walking all over me or chasing my feet until I got up and played with him.
