A few days ago a feral cat climbed over the fence to my enclosure and got trapped with my other cats. He couldn't climb out by himself, the fence is cat proof from the inside, so I had to lock all of my cats inside, cut a whole in the fence and guide him out. This took over an hour and in that time some of my cats decided to spray the house. I've got rid of most of the smell by using an enzyme cleaner, but there is one little patch of concrete floor just inside the door that I can't get clean.

I've tried soaking it in bleach and enzyme cleaner, but the smell keeps coming back. Any idea what I can use to clean it with? Do you think it would help if I painted or sealed the floor?

It's just inside the front door so the smell hits you as soon as you walk into the house.

Thank you for the link Anne.

I thought I'd won the battle. I poured a cup of bleach onto the floor, worked it in with a  scrubbing brush and then gaffer taped plastic bags and sheets of cardboard over it to give the bleach time to sink in. The next morning I spent ages with a hose and a scrubbing brush rinsing all the bleach away then left it to dry naturally.

It smelled great for a whole day, but Hiro has just sprayed there again.

I think I may end up getting a water resistant sealant to cover it with. That way any more accidents won't be able to sink in to the cement. I'l let you know what I come up with.

Who would have though cement floors were so porous?
