I thought this was a particularely nice pic. of Kermitte. She's lost a LOT of weight, and she looks a lot happier these days. She's mellowed a lot too!

Awwww. Lovely kitty!!!!!

I also like the softness of the colours in the picture - suit Kermitte's colouring down to a T.

So far out in left field I got lost
Well she is a pretty girl that is for sure
Congrats on the weight loss. I know how you feel about that, right now The Sammycat is on a diet and has lost some weight. He was not a happy camper for a little while and there is nothing worse than a cat that wants his kitty cookies........Now!

I know! She seems to be constantly hungry, and has even started bullying Elmo out of his dish... before she's finished hers! She NEVER used to do that. It used to be the other way around. I've discovered a very easy way to keep the cats amused, active, and full. I get my little container of kibble, and toss one piece down the stairs (Kermitte usually goes bouncing down after that one), and one down the hall. Elmo goes after that one. By then, Kermitte's come back up, and I send her chasing after another cookie. I can keep them both quite happy for 10 minutes with that game. And I toss a treat for the dog every once in a while too, otherwise she just stands there and drools.

We do that too - sliding the dry food across the floor for them to catch (they like to peer out from behind something so they can spring out and snag it!) And the poor dog knows that she'll get her nose whacked if she goes after the cat's food, so we have to toss her one every now and then too!

SHE'S BEAUTIFUL!
Is she as soft as she looks? I've never seen a cat look that soft!

She's VERY soft. It's like petting velvet
but then again, I'm biased.

Great pictures! How much weight has she lost? How long did it take? My two fatties are on a diet right now and they are not happy about it! I was wondering how long it takes to get a cat to lose weight? I know they certainly gain it fast!

Humm... Good question. I'd say at least a good 5-6 months... We didn't really notice the weight loss as it happened. It sort of just dawned on us one day that she was a lot thinner than she was. We're feeding her a prescription diet, because she's has problems with Cystitis (sp?) and/or a reocurring UTI. Weight loss will vary with every cat. It depends on how overweight they are, how old they are, how healthy they are, etc... As for how much she's lost, probably about 4-5 lbs. I'd like to weigh her, but she's fast asleep right now.
As soon as she's up and about, I'll weigh her and let ya know! (It'll be a moment of truth for me too!
)

I just weighed Kermitte. 10 lbs. And I was quite surprised to find out that Elmo weighs the same! And I've gained weight (groan) although I suppose that's a good thing, since I've been underweight for over a year now (IBS... Irritable Bowel Syndrome), I'm still under the target weight for my age and height, but I'm closer to it than I was before. I wonder if it'll last?
