My cat had a tumour removed from above his eye. I'm just worried it doesn't look right. What do you guys think?

Did the vet give you a list of things to look for?  Usually it's things like warm to the touch, a sudden increase in swelling, and increased and/or different colored drainage.  I have never had this type of surgery done on a kitty so I really don't know what is considered normal.

If it was very recently done, it looks fine to me.

It's just starting to want to dry up and scab over.

The thing I'm always always asked is "does the incision appear clean, dry, closed, and flat, AND is he wearing THAT ECOLLAR?!"

I've had some assume my recovering pet isn't wearing their e-collar when they see an incision irritated or sutures loose. Some can rub the e-collar against the incision enough, to still cause damage, or can reach a paw/foot around and inside the cone to still scratch! The slight redness looks like healing tissue, not infection.

Regardless, I'd want my cat on antibiotics with an incision the size of his orbit above his eye! Just my preference for "better safe" than calling the vet later describing yellow, chunky, and/or stinky discharge and needing to get antibiotics from an emergency vet over the weekend, paying them an exam/er fee just to get the Rx.
