It took about four weeks from start to finish. We went to AAA for our pictures, downloaded the applications from the internet and took everything into the Prothonotary's Office at the courthouse. FWIW, I wouldn't recommend picture-taking at AAA. The courthouse didn't like the pictures at all and they thought we'd end up having to have them re-taken. Thankfully, the passports came with no trouble.

We are going to Canada, to an ACDC outdoor concert (one of our favorite rock bands). We go to Canada often, but we haven't been there in quite a while now. And when we go, it is usually up around Niagara-on-the-Lake; there are a few B & Bs that we love to visit. We've never been to Ottawa, so we're going for the concert and then to walk around the city for a few days.

We're driving back to PA via Vermont. We're going to King Arthur and Rick and I are taking a baking class this time! We registered too late for one when we were in Vermont last year, but Rick got us registered in plenty of time this year. We're going to learn how to make Sticky Buns! We had a choice of four classes: Sticky Buns, Bread Dough, Soft Pretzels, and something else, but I forget what it was. There was really no question as to the class; Rick really wanted the Sticky Bun class, so that's the one we're taking. It's a 4-5 hour class, I believe. Should be fun! I think I'm more excited about the baking class than I am the concert. And I'm glad he's taking the class with me.

I don't know why, but most of my vacations always have something to do with food in some way or other.

Well; ya gotta eat!

Plus Pam is to Cooking as Light is to Day.

Your trip sounds fun!  I haven't been actually in Canada in over 20 years.  But we took several trips to the 1000 islands region when I was a kid.  I always enjoyed that!  I think i would enjoy the sticky buns class too.  The soft pretzels sounds yummy too though.  That would have been a close 2nd for me.

Well, yeah, pretty much. I just love to cook.

My MIL called yesterday..... Rick told her about our trip and she wants to go with us to King Arthur. She can't. Not this trip since we're coming back into the States from Canada and she doesn't have a passport.....and I think it's kind of late notice to try to get one at this point. And there's no way she could walk around in Canada with us. I think we could get her up to King Arthur sometime, but boy, it's hard for her to get around and it would tire her out so much with that walker; just getting her in and out of the car all the time would be exhausting. She said she would love the cooking class and I know she would enjoy it. Maybe we can try something next spring for her. Meanwhile, she's working on a list of things for us to get her from the King Arthur store. She needs maple syrup and since we're going to be in Vermont anyway..... And she's working on a Penzey list, since we'll be going to Penzey and to Trader Joe's in October.

Taste of Home magazine does cooking classes too. I love that magazine. Here's a link to find upcoming classes near you.   http://www.tasteofhome.com/cooking-schools/find-a-class

Oh Penzey's. I'd love to go there. They have such great stuff.
