Kiki loves to scratch the sofa, I already put a blanket on top, but he will go under the blanket and when we sprinkle some water on him he will still do it. Any ideas how to stop him from scratching the sofa?

Double sided sticky tape often helps in these situations.  You can actually buy sticky strips at pet stores that do the same thing but they tend to be expensive and double sided tape works just as well.  Also make sure your kitty has a scratching post (s)he likes.  I've got two that mine use - one is an upright sisal post and the other is the corrugated cardboard kind that lies on the ground.  Rubbing cat nip in the scratching post will encourage your kitty to use it.

My cat has one cardboard scratching post and does not really react to cat nip. I will buy the double sided sticky tape.

I talk to my cat and believe she understands. When I brought her home as a baby, I showed her, and told her the things she could not do in the house. There are only three things, don't poop or pee on the floor and no scratching the furniture. She has a tree house to scratch and when I see her go for the couch I say..you know your not supposed to do that and she stops, but turns it into a hitting game...I tap the couch and she hits my hand.
