Hi. I joined this site hoping to get some answers about my cat's behavior. My three year old indoor cat Yoda is obsessed with our attic. He accidentally got locked in there once and now all he wants to do is get back in. He scratches at the door and yowls constantly. I'm to the point where I just want to let him in so he can explore it a little while. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks!

Maybe there are critters hanging out up there. I would let the cat go up there but I would check that he isn't  doing any of his business up there.

Hmm maybe he doesn't like that the door is closed. Our cat Yuki hates when we close the bathroom door, he scratches and meows. As soon as we open he just walks away, Try letting Yoda into the attic and watch what he does, maybe he's just curious and mad that he's not allowed somewhere.

p.s. I love his name!

Some cats are just very determined and curious.  If there's nothing that can hurt him up there, and it doesn't get too hot (our attic can be as hot as 135 d F in the summertime!) then just letting him go up now and then will satisfy him.  If it's not safe, eventually he'll give up on trying to get you to open that door.  If there's loose wiring or fiberglass insulation where he could get to it, don't let him up there.
