New to this, but have a question about my very pregnant cat! This morning I thought she went into labor. She was very lethargic, stomach was hardening, she was even shaking? And hissing and meowing when I'd pick her up (Idk if these are labor signs) Oh! And she lost her mucus plug I assume... lol Well, I set her up with food and water and left for work and came back and still no babies! She almost seems like she went out of labor? Is this possible? Can cats go into labor and then out again?? If these aren't signs, what are some signs that I should look for?

I'm home with her now, she honestly doesn't look like she feels good :( I imagine labor would make her feel that way though. She even acted like it was hard to walk at times.I think the trembling is contractions maybe?

She's starting the "trembling" thing again. It's in her lower back/stomach and makes her hind legs quiver.

Mmmmm.......I'm a little concerned about this one, shaking is not common, nor is lethargy.

Is she eating/drinking and up and about now or no?

What did the plug look like?

Not trying to scare you, this may be the norm for her, but I haven't seen a cat in labor that shook or acted lethargic.

I'd like to know if those signs were gone and she is walking around now or what?

Okay so the shaking might just be her 'thing' during labor, but I'd keep a very watchful eye on her for signs of distress in any way.

Try to keep her as calm and quiet surroundings as possible, this helps reduce the unnecessary stress for her.

I thought she lost her plug about a week ago, but what she lost this time was dime size and green/yellow. She's usually very active, but this morning she's been just laying around; that's actually what she's doing now. She has been eating and drinking and was back to normal, but is back at it with everything I described before. I'll def keep an eye on her!

When she was acting like she was in labor earlier she wouldn't eat a thing though.

I should have taken a pic earlier lol It came out around 9:30am and is now 12:16am where I'm from and I threw it away :/ It didn't have a bad odor though. She's definitely having contractions now, she rolled over and I could see her little belly contracting. She was starting to meow too, and keeps getting up and pacing.

First ones here!
Splendid!  So it was surely this what caused the trembling, the beginning labor.   But you can still give her some extra calcium, just to be on the safe side. Cant harm, may help, and is surely useful, unless she is already on a calcium rich diet.

I don't know if I should make a new thread for this question or not... I read that a cat can go into heat as soon as one week after delivery. Is this true? How soon can I have my cat spayed? Will it affect her nursing her babies any?

Congratulations on the new babies. Cats can go into heat soon after having their babies, make sure that you keep her inside and don't let her out no matter what. This is because she could get pregnant again or disappear while outside leaving you to raise the babies. I think she can be spayed when the babies are 8 weeks old? It depends on the vets in your area and when they are willing to spay.

Its as NewYorker says.  So if its necessary in  your situation, you can spay earlier than the customary 8 weeks.  She will almost surely continue to nurse, perhaps even the same day...

Cats after emergency spaying  do so for their already born kittens.
