Okay, so I have a 12 year old male domestic long hair, Dracula, and I always get comments on how his eyes look. They tell me his eyes are beautiful and they look 'cool'. I love my cat and I just wanted to make sure it's normal for a cat to have eyes like this. I've looked at pictures of other cats, and none of them had eyes like his. His eyes were never like this when he was younger and it developed a couple years ago. His vision is fine and his eyes don't irritate him. I was hoping someone had an idea of what this may be or if it's totally normal. Thanks!

How long has he had this?   It sounds like benign iris freckles, particularly if he has had them a long time, but these (if that's what they are) can become cancerous.  If your vet has not seen him i would make an appointment to have them examined.

He's had them since he was 9 or 10. I took him into the new vet at the beginning of the year for a flea allergy and she asked me about them and told me older cats get them but left it at that and didn't really say what it was. I was concerned afterwards when I seen my aunts 19 year old cat didn't have them. I figured by the way the vet spoke, that all older cats had eyes similar to his. Thanks for the insight, I'll make an appointment for him to get them checked out.

I've seen a lot of old cats and never seen this condition.  Presumably its benign, but i agree I'd want more info from a vet, possibly a vet opthamologist.
