Hi Everyone

It seems Xena has come to terms with the fact that my fish- are friends, not food for her. She now peacefully sits on top of the tank staring.... Just wanted to share pics. I have learned a lot about "aquascaping" recently, so I have some before and after pics:

The before was overly colorful and just, gawdy I think. The newscape is white rock, black backdrop and all natural greens & browns.

Fish: We have 3 dwarf gouramis, a red platty, a cory catfish, red tailed something, and a golden mystery snail. He's the coolest...

SOme pics of the new natural scape

It will be. I have another gallon sitting and dechlorinating with the drops right now. Also wanted to make sure my filter has room to aerate

awesome :)

I need to rescape mine. the plants aren't doing too well in my FW tank, so I might as well get silk plants instead.

Decided to upgrade tank size-- and go "all naturale"! I think it turned out awesome!!!

Decided on Dwarf Gouramis and some albino tetras. Also a cory catfish, went from a 10 gallon to 25........... We also added two bubble curtains... it's awesomeness.

Here are pics

(it was still filling with water)

the whole tank in context

I love gouramis. I had them in my 20 gal before I moved out of my parents house. They have such personality!

It's like I want to talk about tropical fish, but I never kept any peaceful tropicals.

Good start with aquascaping, it can be very tough at first. I've been doing aquascaping for about 4 years now and love it! Once I got into live plants I have never looked back. The fish and the aquarium over all are in such better health and balance with live plants. You should try your hand at live plants and eventually try high tech planted tanks out. Makes aquascaping endless :)

Here is a picture of one of my most recent aquascaped live planted high tech tanks:

Here is the link to my thread I started about my planted aquariums. I have a bunch of other aquascapes I have done in there if you want to check them out. http://www.thecatsite.com/t/304473/anyone-else-love-fish-and-aquariums#post_3823781

I do have a moss ball (it's live) I plan on slowly going to live.. What is the grass tufts there??
Just make sure you have the right substrate and nutrients, lights, and possibly co2 to support the plants. The green plant is called Blyxa Japonica, one of my favorite plants.
