I hope I'm posting this in the correct forum...anyway, my Luna is four months old and she's teething like crazy.  Thankfully, she hasn't targeted a single electrical cord in the apartment (I'm a student taking online courses, so I'm home all day to supervise her).  We don't go to the pet store too often other than to pick up a new bag of kibble (5.9 pound bag of Wellness lasts us about a month and a half) and everything else is obtained from Walmart (i.e. cat litter).  I really don't trust cat toys from Walmart, seeing as they carry a bunch of stuff from Hartz, which I have heard nothing but negative things about.

Are there any home remedies I can whip up to soothe her teething, like homemade chew toys? any and all advice is GREATLY appreciated, help me help my little Luna!

What a sweetie! Look at the fuzzy belly!

A couple of things I've found work - if you have a dehydrator, you can dehydrate plain chicken and let her munch on pieces of it. My boys love to chew on chunks of dehydrated chicken or dried fish.

Also, my parents have a kitten who loves to gnaw on frozen washcloths. They soak a cloth, then freeze it and let her gnaw. She loses interest when it melts, so they just toss it in the wash and freeze another one for her.

I'll try the washcloth method ^_^ thank you!

Good luck! As her teeth come in you'll just have to watch that she doesn't get threads out of the cloth and eats them...in Maddie's case, as soon as it's not a stiff chunk, she drops it. They use the cotton dish wash cloths, not the fuzzy bath ones, if that helps.

I too like the frozen washcloth idea, will remember that one, but I would also like to ask the same question, but be directed to a website where I can buy some good chew toys. Like Mrsjcross86, I too do not like what they sell at Walmart. My 4 kittens are only 10 days old now, but I like to be prepared and think ahead. thanks.

I have found that NUK-type pacifiers (newborn size) work great for teething kittens. I actually started using pacifiers when I got in a feral kitten with a HORRIBLE biting issue.
Just make sure to watch the nipple and throw away if it gets torn.

Chewy.com is a great place to order toys (and food!) from.

Another teething toy I think is called "Cat Crazies".
