Environmentally, cat and human safe cat litter

I am interested in using an environmentally safe cat litter. What do you use that does not smell

and is easy to scoop.

Do you mean non-clay? I can't recommend a corn litter, due to the risk of that nasty fungus.

I've used yesterday's news. Didn't overly impress me, but there might be another paper based litter with better odor control. But it would see the most environmentally friendly.
