Some kids in my building found these two kittens at the stairs and brought them to me as i have rescued a few kittens before. But I'm surr these kittens (which i think are 4 weeks old) still have a mother who they are saperated from... i want to get them back to their mother but no idea where she is... also, will she even take them back or not? I'm planning to take them all over the building and neighbourhood in a travelling cage and hope I find the mother looking for them... any advice on how to approach the cat if i find her... or how to find her... these kittens aren't looking too well so I'm not even sure if the mother is taking good care of them or not...

Have you given the kittens any food or water.  It they aren't looking too well that would be a good start.  I would take them back to where they were found.  The mother cat probably brought them there.  You're handling of them shouldn't make a difference.  You could also bring some food for mom.

I tried to give them some kitten milk but they drank only a bit. The priblem is one of them seems to have a wound which which looks like a pimple... it's healed I think and not bleeding of anything... the kittens were found climbing down the stairs themself... so i don't know from where they started...

If kittens are not looking well it's possible mom either abandoned them or was killed. If they're underweight or sickly, they're likely older than they appear.

Depending on their condition, it might be best to intervene rather than trying to return them.

catpack catpack so should i not even look for the mother then, and take them in? In which case I need advice on how to introduce them to my 3 kittens who this rescued cat gave birth to 3 months ago. The babies are in my home and nither the 3 month olds, nor the new ones are liking each other...

You probably need to feed them with a kitten bottle or syringe.  they are too young to eat on their own just yet.  they will need some Kitten Milk Replacer (KMR) found at pet stores and Walmart.  Powdered form is best, avoid Harts and Seargents.  You can also canned pate style cat food with the formula so it's like a kitten mush.

You'll need to keep them separated for a little bit.  How is the mother cat reacting to them?  If she still has milk she may take care of them.

Here is a link to an article for introducing the kittens and cat./  I think it goes faster with kittens but since the new kittens are feeling poorly you will want to keep them separate until you can give them a flea treatment and are sure they don't have anything else to share.

I too think thisis a good idea, if fostering them is any option for you.   After all, they are near now the best age for easy fostering.   If you return them, in the best case mom will find them etc, and we will end with two new homeless semiferales.

IF you foster them, you will get two socialized, fully adoptable kittens...   And thus, give them their prosperous life, instead of an miserable life.

Their health seems so so at this moment, so perhaps best concentrate for this moment at being sure they get healthy.  - Its also a sort of quarantine for the other kittens you have at home.

But soon enough, yes, its time to let them meet, and socialize togehter...

Good luck!

They are drinking KMR from a pan but seem to be missing their mom. I have no intention of leaving them to their own... i want to find their mom and take the kittens and mom to a shelter i sometimes assist so that they can get them fixed and them adopted... i just hope I find the mother...

Btw.. one of them just jumped up my bed which is one and a half feet in hieght. Are theu really 4 weeks old or older?
