I shouldn't have interfered with formula. Should have just kept putting her on her mum.

Not necessarily. I believe we told you to supplement if she was having problems suckling. She may have been born with a defect. It's call Fading Kitten Syndrome and it can be a number of things. But the labored breathing and floppiness indicates she will die.

I'm not sure she would have survived on mom alone.  You got her to eat more from mom by giving her energy with the formula. You also cannot be sure you caused this.  Some kittens just don't live long.

Vets aren't keen to see her. Is there any point?

No reason to see a vet.

Did you supplement overnight?

Will she take anything now?

So its my fault
Nay, sooner bad luck.   Even if its true it helps much to be experienced with feeding, to lessen the risks.

Nay, it was apparent this was not enough.  One was sure death, the other one was a risk but also, the chance to make it.

You took the best chance, but luck wasnt with you, it seems.

Also, we dont really know what is the matter,   She may have been a goner from the beginning, and your help was never enough although it was a step in the right direction..

Still, as long as there is life, there is hope... Just to fight on.

Surprisingly, I gave her a cuddle earlier and she perked up. I put her with mum and she rooted. She fed!
Touch and go still I'm sure but she's fed a few times since and had a few ml of formula from the dropper. I'm prepared for a long night. What will be will be. But I'm going to give it my best shot.

This is such good news.  she needs to feed though the night.  Every other hour at least.  It will be a long night but if she gets enough food she may return to nursing on mom alone.

She's just fed really well. Two of mums teats, two ml formula, and sucked my hand strongly. She's peed and had a jiggly burping session and now sleeping.

if you can get it where you live, nutri-cal paste can be a life saver too. i used it with my fosters who had coccidia and they all did fine but i really thought i might lose some of them..

praying for your little girl!

Yes, nutri cal vitamine paste may be useful.  There are also other, similiar vitamine pastes, im not sure if it really matters exactly which to use, if you want to use one.

Vets are often selling them, but they can be bought OTC too.

It sounds like the kitten is actually doing quite well with her feedings.
