Ellie was adopted when she was four weeks old from a woman who had found her and her litter, along with momma-cat, abandoned in a cardboard box next to a dumpster in a bus yard. We have no idea what breeds she may be, but I think she looks similar to a Bengal in markings. She's very independent and high energy, and she loves observing g her world from up above. I would lIke to hear the community's thoughts.

She is very sweet, and she is a beautiful classical tabby.   Classical tabby is also calltd for marbled or blotched tabby.   If in Bengals, they always use the wording  " marbled bengal."

I dont think anybody would dump a purebred bengal-family (even if the dumper probably hoped the little family will be found and rescued).   But if you want to fancy a bengal connection, its of course not impossible she is a natural dau of a bengal, and the owners of the female werent happy she sneaked out one day, and come back pregnant....

I suppose the littermates are more or less copies of her?  Do you know this?  And how is the mom looking?     Tabby is dominant, so its enough with the father to be a classical tabby, for all the kittens to be tabbies.   Although if mom is striped tabby, striped tabby is the stroner of the two, and makes things more complicated.

I haven't seen Momma as she was elsewhere when we adopted her, but her siblings looked striped at the time. Her markings have certainly become more prominent since she lost her kitten fuzz, and her fur became more sleek. Yes, I agree, not many people would dump a purebred Bengal and her kittens next to a dumpster but I suppose I thought the breed may be somewhere in her genealogy. We love her markings and always get compliments on her appearance.

She does have a striking coat pattern! She's lucky to have found a good home after such an unfortunate start in life.

Thank you, pushylady! We're very lucky to have adopted her. I knew from the moment I saw her, that she was ours. We love her very much!
