Hi,

First, I'm sorry if this is a bit long, I just want to make sure everyone has all the info.  :)

I have a 6 year old Norwegian mix male cat named Lafayette.  About 3 years ago he suffered a bladder blockage and spent 3 days at the vet for it.  They gave me Hills Science Diet C/D for him, saying he has kidney stones.

Fast forward about a year and a half, and when I moved to a new house, Lafayette got a UTI and, while he wasn't blocked, he had to be on antibiotics for some time.

Now here recently, he was blocked again.  I took him to the vet.  This is a new vet from the one who originally diagnosed him.  His bladder was flushed and he was sent home, only to have to go back 2 days later with another blockage.   The vet informed me that during this time he did not find any stones blocking his bladder, and that he believes the issue is related to anxiety and inflammation.

Right now, he's on antibiotics and is home doing well.

All this time, I've had him on the C/D formula cat food.

Every site i've read says that he needs more water in his diet and that dry food is horrible for him.

but, I'm afraid to take him off the C/D......

Should I introduce some wet grain free food or does he need the C/D forever?   It's got awful ingredients, and all I see in it that makes it "good" is extra salt.
