For the past couple of weeks, our 3 month old kitten has been letting some BIG stinkers loose. Silent but deadly at least 4 or 5 times a day around us :( We're currently feeding her Weruva and BFF wet food, and we haven't ever fed her dry food. I think this gas may be because of her diet, but I'm not sure what else to give her! We've tried raw in the past but she just wasn't interested. Has anyone found a solution to this issue? Thanks!

Look more closely at what you're feeding. It may be that she's having a slight reaction to one or more of the ingredients (for example, Asha struggles with beef and cassia gum, so I stick to rabbit and poultry meat and avoid all gums and carrageenan).

If you'd rather feed raw, then bear in mind it can take time, patience and deviousness to switch a cat from canned to raw. I'm working on getting Asha off the freeze dries raw and onto the cheaper frozen version - I had to start by making small meatballs coated in crumbled freeze dried raw, and have gradually decreased the amount of freeze dried needed - even 2-3 weeks in, she won't eat the raw on its own. Transitions can easily take months

If she is overeating, this can cause gas too, OR intestinal parasites, which is not uncommon for kittens.

Thanks for all of your input!

I gave the ingredients a look and the only gum Weruva has is Xanthan gum, no carrageenan, and we don't feed her any beef. Bff has either Xanthan or Guar gum, but it DOES have carrageenan! Bff may be the culprit! I'm definitely going to stop giving that to her.

She eats a lot for a kitten, so maybe she is overeating too. I'll try and give her only a couple of spoons at a time, and more often throughout the day.

She has had 2 rounds of dewormer from our vet, so I hope it's not intestinal parasite!

Hopefully her gas will lessen throughout the week. Thanks again for your help!
