Her sisters are all trying to groom her at once. It's actually seeming to annoy her. No they didn't mention a steroid. I can call and ask though

I think asking about the steroid is a good idea. It comes in pill form (and liquid) and is quite good at helping with fluid in the lungs.

It is so heartwarming picturing this family reunion!

I am still praying for a miracle!

How's the day going with your cat?

Can we get a picture?

Any update on breathing or urination?

Still hoping ...

Sending many prayers your way. I'm glad she's home, especially if the vet claimed she wasn't drinking water there. At least she's more comfortable. Sounds like her sisters are trying to comfort her.

No urination. She slept for awhile and is awake again. Breathing is still very heavy.

Not eating is not good :(.

Hope you hear back from the vet soon.

I pray for your little kitty, but regardless what happens you can at least feel a little better knowing that you did everything possible to keep her healthy. This is much, much more than many would do and is a very compassionate act. I have difficulty even thinking about one of my cats passing and know the helpless feeling that you have. You have done as much as can be done, now it is in God's hands. I wish you and your kitty the best and hope for a miracle.

I know, I worry sometimes that hanging on is more for me than her but I just feel if she's still alive there's still a chance. She seems to be in a lot of discomfort but is still getting up and walking around. She's not meowing or showing she is upset, just really heavy breathing.  I hope they say the steroids are a good idea and help her. Still waiting to find out.

She was extremely excited to leave the vet. I can tell she is very happy to be home that's for sure.

Give the vet a call back to move things along.

You made the right decision. She needed to come home. She would be uncomfortable no matter where she is, so better at home where she is familiar and feeling loved and can walk around the house freely.

I so wish she could urinate.

The vet said a steroid wouldn't help.

I'm sorry to hear that. And it wouldn't long-term, since her kidneys aren't functioning.

Just try to enjoy the time you have left. She will start to go downhill quickly.

I imagine she'll hang on as long as she can, bless her heart.

I've been researching alternative treatments. Is there anything to baking soda? I'm reading it can do miracles for kidney issues?

some sites say it's toxic if you give them too much.

I have absolutely no idea about baking soda. I would caution against giving her anything like that.

Did the vet give you anything for her at all?

No the vet didn't give me anything. They have no ideas at this point except to euthanize her.
