I've got a kitten who's 9 weeks old and i was wondering how many meals a day would be adviceable for a scheduled meal? I have a plastic bowl of Whiskas Junior Torrfoder (Swedish) out for my kitten next to a ceramic bowl of water, but i also give her canned chicken food at 10am, 5pm and 10pm. Should i change my schedule? Or is it good? Given that she's free to eat from the dry food (Whiskas) but also receive three meals a day.

how big is the wet canned food? 16 ounces? I assume your feeding schedule is related to your work time. If so, just make sure that the morning feeding is about twice the amount of your 5pm. You want your cat to eat all the wet food but not leave any by the time you get home at 5pm.

Ideally for kittens I would recommend more meals of smaller portions. A quarter of a 16 ounce can mixed with dry 4-5 times a day. As they get older and their stomachs get bigger you can increase the portions and reduce to 3 meals a day.

It doesn't say anywhere on the can how much it is suprisingly.. I've changed my schedule to four times a day instead with kibble at hand for her whenever she wants more. But once i start working i'll have to change her schedule starting from 10am to 6am.

As she is so young, she must have access to food all the time and eat as much as she wants. Once she reaches 1 year old (or maybe earlier, depending on her weight and appetite) you can schedule the dry food, too.

As for the current schedule, I think that there is too much time between the last meal of the day and the next one. If you could space them more evenly I think it would be better for her.

I've switched to a four meal schedule at 6am, 11pm, 16pm and 21pm. And the kibble (dry food) is out for her to eat whenever she wants. Is this a good schedule?

Every kitten is different so what works for one kitten may not work for another. As long as the meal time work for your kitten, then it's fine
Do you measure out the dry food before putting it into the bowl? 1/2 cup to 1 cup of dry food is plenty for snacking on in between meals, IMO. If you find that too much food is left over at the end of the day, throw the food away and reduce the amount of dry food you leave out the next time.

You can leave canned food out in a programmable timed feeder such as this one. If you can't get one, then continue to leave some dry food out just in case your kitten gets hungry.
