So we are moving into a new apartment they wanted like 800 in pet deposit and a monthlyfee per cat that we cant afford. Plus our deposit was only $99! So we didn't tell them we are bringing 2 cats. But they are a pet friendly complex. We have seen our apartment and it's all the way in the back corner, so not likely that anyone will walk by. Do repair men take note if cats are in the apartment and report it? If they do can I just say we just got them?

I know a lot of people sneak pets into an apartment but I was never brave enough to try it.  I know pet deposits can be high as can  paying a 'pet rent' but even as a pet lover I can see the owners side of things.  Many people don't take care of things the way they should.  They don't get their kitties fixed or keep litter boxes clean so there is cat urine soaked into the floor and if there is spraying soaked into the walls.  Particularly if it's a tom cat that can be a huge job to clean up as in ripping out floors and walls down to the studs.  They don't get scratching posts and the kitties claw up doors and corners of walls.  It's irresponsible pet owners that makes it hard for the rest of us.

Understandable. We are responsible cat owners. Both are cats are fixed. They have never scratched on anything. We have a large cat tree with multiple scratching posts and have never had a problem with them causing damage. I've lived in 2 orher apartments with them and got my full deposit back both times.
