Only if I sit right next to it with arm in with her. But I am nearly 8 months pregnant myself so sitting on the floor isn't very comfortable.

I taped the doors shut after I pulled her out so hopefully that will keep them closed.

Oh goodness! Then no, please do not do anything that is uncomfortable for yourself.

You will soon have an infant AND kittens! Your household will be getting very busy :).

I know! It's about to be pretty hectic. Lol.

so it seems her labor is going fairly slow. She's calm now, still breathing heavy like she just ran around, and cleaning her belly and wanting to cuddle but that's about it. Her belly is firm and I can feel two long solid lumps, I'm thinking they are kittens, along the bottom on either side. She does have some discharge but will not let me get a good look to see if it's bloody or not.

She's doing the long stage one labor deal. Like I said, it could be hours. Are you sleeping on the couch with her tonight?

You may want to try to rest in case she gets you up in a few hours.

Aww - I remember feeling incredibly nervous about being a mom, but very excited. What hit hard was the realization that the responsibility never ends with a baby - your life really does change forever.

You will love being a mom! It's a wonderful feeling! :)

I'm excited, but nervous
I don't wanna mess mu kids up lol.

So it's 7:30 am and we still have no kittens. She looks so much smaller than she did yesterday, her belly is definitely hanging. Her breathing is still rapid and heavy but she hasn't stopped purring for me long enough to see her just breathe lol. Her tummy is still firm and her teats are really really full.

She will get there. She is probably contracting, and the non-stop purring is her way of soothing herself.

Do you see her belly rippling in waves? If she looks smaller, it's because the kittens are moving down into the birth canal.

She will have them today. When her body is ready, she will move into hard labor and pushing.

No rippling that I've noticed although her purring gets kind of ragged every now and then then stops.. She won't get off of me though. I think she's mad that I went and slept next to my husband for an hour or so. Lol .

She's purring through the pain of the contractions.

My cat sat on top of me the entire night before she jumped up and ran into the spare room to her nesting place and delivered her first kitten. It was not the most comfortable thing in the world for me since she was so heavy at that point, but I knew she needed me. And she had been in stage one for probably close to 24 hours before she delivered.

She's so calm. She's just layin here with fat cat grooming him like nothings wrong.

I just saw two big contractions, Her whole body tensed up. Should I've her to her basket now?

No, I'd leave her be, but maybe put old towels underneath her. Her water will break and there can be a little blood as she delivers. You can always put her and the kittens in the nest later.

That's sweet! Maybe he's helping to keep her relaxed enough to progress in her labor!

He's her best friend, and he HATES other cats. I don't know what it is about her. :)

She got in her box on her own. I have a blanket in there and an old sheet so the claws don't get caught in anything.

That's great she got in herself - she must be getting closer. I just wanted both you and your cat to be where you guys were most comfortable for the birthing.

It's nice she has such a devoted boyfriend :).
