My cat just gave birth 2 days ago..this is the second litter that she's had..she is an outdoor cat (NOT FERAL) She gave birth inside of my home and has been fine up until today. Shes been panting & breathing very hard and cries..I read about kittens staying stuck inside of cats & im just so overwhelmed because as of right now im helpless. I don't know whats wrong [emoji]128532[/emoji] she will be taken to the vet ASAP but as of now thats not possible.. I need help !!

It is not uncommon for some cats to take a pause between birthing some kittens and then birthing the rest, but that generally occurs within about 24 hours and in this case it also sounds like she is in distress. I don't know if kittens are stuck inside her or if something else is wrong but I would get her to the vet ASAP. If you can't go in right now can you at least call the vet? If the issue is that they are not open can you look up emergency vets in your area?

How are the kittens doing?

Thank you for your response it is greatly appreciated..the kittens are fine and she is still nursing them thankfully but I know it must pain her to do so. Her stomach feels as if she does have something still in there but im no expert... I know the main answer is she needs to be seen by a vet im just so worried and didnt know what else to do at the moment but to post on here :-/ Its currently 3 A.M. here in Cali & I feel like me calling a vet right now isn't going to help seeing that I have no form of transportation to even take her to a vet.. Do you think she can cause harm to her babies from being distressed like this?

Nay, I dont think so.   She may neglect them if she has problems, but hardly make them harm.    Keep an eye on the situaltion, IF  you must step in and take care on them.

With a little luck, there is one more waiting to come out, and if so, it may be entirely well and resolve itself soon enough  As hinted earlier.

But spontaneously, I would say its a contact vet asap - case...   There may be several different complications after a birth.  This may be one of them.

Good luck!

Tx for the report!

Make sure she is comfortable inside, has a nice hidey, is not disturbed nor stressed by anyone, and definitely by anything she may think is dangerous.

Food and water nearby, litter a little apart, but also nearby...

You can set  some relaxing, calming music on...

How long ago did she give birth to the first litter? She may need extra calcium if the litters are born close together.
