Concerned new kitten mom

Hello all!

First off, I'd like to apologize for my frequent posting on here.

Anyway, I had my 5 month old kitten neutered yesterday (he also received his shots). He was released this morning, and I noticed that he is scratching his ears and shaking his head. When they did his pre-surgery checkup, his ears were fine. Is it possible that he got ear mites after his surgery, or that when they checked his ears they pushed wax down deeper into his ear causing irritation?

I have an appointment for my little guy in the morning to get checked out, but thought I would also get your all's input.

I don't know the answer to your question but am curious to hear what the vet says.  I hope they are able to give your little guy some quick relief.  As to posting too often, that is not a problem.  We all love cats here and so love to talk about them.

Turns out he is in the beginning stages of an ear infection. 10 days of ear drops, here we come!
