My baby Suki is pregnant! We aren't sure how far along exactly, but we went to the vet and had an X-ray and they are pretty big. Her hair by her vagina is a little darker than usual and on her belly underneath her vagina the hair is short but it was curled up like it was wet, but dry to the touch. I'm just so ready for them to come out I feel like a grandma! So far I haven't felt or seen them move yet but I'm at work a lot and she looks like she is about to bust!

I have actually read all three of these articles over the course of her pregnancy. I was really just hoping for a more personalized response to her specific situation.

Great! As for when she will will pop, now it's a matter of the waiting game. What are your other specific questions?

Your cat is huge, as was mine! She looks like she is ready for labor literally anytime now.

Have you seen any discharge or dilation of her vulva? Are you seeing any tummy ripples?

She looks like she is within a day or two of labor from your picture!

This is my cat the day before she gave birth:

I hope this helps! :)

Let us know when anything changes!

I haven't seen any discharge other than what I already described where it's just like its been wet down there. And I'm honestly not sure if she's dilated.

Her water could have just started leaking.  You  could still have up to two days before she gives birth.

You would need to check under her tail to see if she has discharge or is dilating.

Sarthur she actually doesn't have a tail lol and I just don't know what to compare it to cause I don't usually really pay attention to that. :) but as of about 5-6 pm today her backside was soaked so I'm pretty sure it was her water breaking cause it didn't smell like poop. Momma is very fond of the top of her litter box right now. :)

How many kittens did your cat have? We couldn't get an exact head count from the X-ray and our cats seem about the same size. Also Suki is a very small cat, does that mean her kittens will be smaller too? Or no? I don't them to be too big to get enough milk from momma!

My vet saw 4 kittens on our x-ray and she had 4 kittens - all healthy! There was a runt, but I never had to supplement any of them. They were healthy weights, and grew well. My cat was not a big cat either, and the kittens were average size, and she birthed them all over 3 hours.

Every time I thought my cat couldn't get any bigger, she got bigger! She ate a lot. She was a pregnant stray I took in, so food was a high point for her.

The vulva is the second hole under where the tail would be. You can definitely tell when it is enlarging during labor.

The cat I am talking about is my avatar, along with one of her kittens. I have them all. Kittens are 4 months old now. :)

Did your vet give you a time frame when he took the x-ray? Mine said 7-10 more days, but she actually delivered 12 days later. It's not an exact science. It's better for kittens to be a couple days late rather than premature. As long as the cat is not in distress, it's best to wait it out. But I was definitely seeing signs for a few days that labor was imminent: uncomfortable, overly clingy and affectionate, clear discharge, vulva dilating. You'll know!

I asked my vet and he told me within the week. Well that will be this Friday.

Okay, and I agree, she is very close. Just realize it could be a couple of days later - or not. My cat surprised me. She slept on top of me as we went into overtime, and that Sunday morning she jumped up, ran to her nest in the spare bedroom, gave a loud meow, and the first kitten was out by the time I made my way across the hall. So the vet is close, but only Mother Nature knows for sure!
