:wavey: hello everyone this is my first post so please bare with me as im a newbie :lol3:
here it goes.. i have a little puddy cat called triggie she was a "he" when we adopted her from a vile lady. Hence shes not spayed so now it approx just over 8 weeks pregnant. We took her to the vet when she was around 5weeks gone and the vet clarified this. She is naturally a slim cat and she only has a small bump. Im yet to see any movement which is worrying me. Shes only eating little and often and restlessly sleeping throughout the day. Should i be worried:blackcat::alright: thankyou in advance for any advise x

She could just be having a small litter.  How did the vet determine she was five weeks along?  Do you remember what day her nipples changed?  That would be day 21.  You should see the kittens moving 2 - 3 weeks before she delivers.

Here is an article that is a good overview of the cat having kittens process.

Thankyou for your responses, i cant remember the exact day her nipples changed but it was about 3 weeks ago in which i noticed. Every now and then when she stands up it looks asthough there's a kitten 'buldging' out her side then after a minute its like its wiggled back and she looks more even. Shes abit funny about having her tummy touched. .even stroked..

If her nipples changed 3 weeks ago she would be approx 42 days along. Cat pregnancy lasts approx 64 days

So she's approx. 6 weeks.  You should see the kittens moving soon - sounds like you are starting to see them a bit already. You don't need to worry she will start to get bigger.

Ok i hope so! After not getting her spayed in time (after been told she was a he lol) i felt even worse thinking that there may be something wrong. I know it was the 30th june when i took her to the vet and she had a feel around and said she only had 4weeks left x

Thankyou stefanZ, could this be a sign to help me estimate how long she has left?

Not really.  We know its vwery few weeks left, but not for sure.  At least, I have never though to try and base a timetable on it - its surely steered by hormones, so it should be possible to get a certainity.  But I havent payed much attention to it.

The reddening of teats is a safe mark.  And when you begin to feel the kittens move is another quite a safe counting point...

Ok i just get concerned because shes only 1 and runs round like a looney :lol3: so im always scared the kittens may get hurt in her tummy (according to the vet shes now only got about 10days left) i can feel the kitten jusy by gentle touching her tummy but yet to see any proper movement

She will not hurt the babies by being active. Cats in the wild are very active.

Do you have a nesting place set up for her in a quiet, private place like a closet? And show it to her, and put her food, water, and litter nearby so she will not need to leave her babies for long to meet her needs.

We set up 3 nesting places one in a walk in cupboard, one in the hallway and one in our bedroom she seemed to favour the cupboard so we put everything she needs only a matter of feet away. But shes quite a figgit so never sleeps in one place for long. Im just a little concerned theres still no movement from the kittens. Do you think i should take her to the vets i dont want to stress her out in the car for no reason.:eek:hno:

You will not always see kitten movement. Especially towards the end it is much harder to see as the belly grows tight and can drop down in preparation for birthing.

I see no reason to stress your kitty out at this point. :)

So, like human moms-to-be, due dates are estimates.

I am guessing the upset tummy is related to oncoming labor though.

Keep an eye out and update as she progresses. :)
