Hello hello!
 Wishing everyone a superb Tuesday!

If you could magically bring back one extinct species, what would it be?

Hard to choose just one with so many options, but what came to mind for me fairly significantly is the Thylacine, or Tasmanian Tiger/Wolf. They are really alluring to me for some reason.

(There is that whole debate going on between those who claim their returned existence based on evidence like witness accounts versus those who argue to the contrary, but that is a whole other topic!)

Scottish wildcats! my understanding is that there are some that definitely have the DNA, but it's suspected that there are none that are true/pure anymore. per @MServant -- '...though whether any remain with DNA not crossed with domestic cats is doubtful.'

Not sure I'd feel too safe knowing T Rex were back on the scene.

@mickNsnicks2mom  's idea of maybe getting the Scottish Wildcat so it was definite that the pure breed was still preserved would be magical, but sadly even if they were brought back the same thing would probably happen again.
Well, unless they were all in captivity and not free to roam which would be terribly sad.

Maybe the Dodo, just because they have such a fun name.
(Also, I don't think they were too dangerous).

I know. But it might give us humans something to think about.

A few years ago, when Rick and I were in Chicago, we went through the Field Museum, one of my favorite places ever. And I saw Sue, the T-Rex. She was so incredibly beautiful. I can't imagine seeing something like her in real life.

I don't know about T-Rex.  I saw a documentary about them where a scientist who is called the Godfather of modern paleontology was advancing some different theories about them.  He was basing it on the horrendous injuries that they survived and the prey that they routinely took down.  He thinks they actually lived in groups and had lifelong mates.  He felt that they wouldn't be able to hunt during recovery periods from bad injuries so they were getting food from the group and some of their prey would be difficult even for T-Rex to take down alone.  The one thing scarier than a T-Rex would be a group of them hunting together.

Keeping it in the cat family - the Javan Tiger.  On a more cheery note, I read recently that the dodo bird had been rediscovered.  However take it with a large grain of salt because I forget where I read it and just googled it and didn't get a hit.

The Woolly Mammoth! In fact I'd like to have a whole herd of them that I could ride around on and race against each other.

Come on now, you know you'd love to see that.

Now why didn't I think of woolly mamoth?   That's a great one!
