I have a kitten that is 11 months old... He eats just fine but is losing weight fast... He also meows a lot... Not sure what is wrong with him... Those are the only symptoms... Any ideas? Can't afford a very right now because we just moved.

I thought about that but haven't seen any and I have never seen any fleas where we live... We have 3 cats a dog and a rabbit and none of them have fleas... I am not sure if it is because we live in the mountains at an elevation of 6000 ft our what.

Hyperthyroidism and IBS can also be a cause. I would, at the very least, call your vet and see if you can start with a stool sample and no exam, and go from there.

When you say losing a lot of weight can you be more specific? Have you weighed him? Can you see the weight loss visually?  Do you know how much he's lost and over how much time?  Can you ask someone to help with vet costs.  If he is indeed losing weight he needs a vet.

OK well let'a just assume you are correct that he is losing weight even though he is eating well. Unfortunately the best we can do is tell you that there is something wrong with him and that he needs a vet.  I can also tell you that generally speaking, if you see a vet soon it will cost less money than if you wait and see a vet later.  There is nothing normal about an 11 month old cat losing weight while eating well.  Can you borrow some money from friends to see a vet?  Can you call a vet and ask what a standard exam costs?

Also, what is he eating, brand, wet/dry and quantity per day?

Are his stools normal?

When does he meow, and if you approach him when he's meowing, what does he do?

About when did all of this start?

I think your only option is to take him to a vet. Weight loss, especially if its rapid, can have dire consequences. @StephenQ  is right - the longer you wait, the more expensive it will be. If necessary, borrow the money, or see if your vet will accept a payment plan. Please get your boy checked out asap. I hope its nothing major.
