I'm at it again, just as I knew God would call me to be. Meet Sparrow.

After the loss of my Gravity, I found another kitten a few days ago, but one quite older. She was very malnourished, skinny, and alone. It took us 3 days with a humane trap to finally get her...she is about 9 weeks old, give or take (everyone I know is saying 8ish) what do you think? She is weighing in at 16.4oz and was all alone under a vacant trailer close to my home. I am hoping that all is well with her health. We will see soon, but honestly I will not be able to get to the vet until Mid-August unless it is an absolute emergency, and then I plan on getting her fully checked out and vetted.

Her respiratory rate seems right on point, along with her heart beat. Eating great. Using the litter box great now as well. Grooms herself after every meal. Purrs a lot. Loves belly rubs.

I am just so scared after my sweet Gravity, but I wanted to come here and share Sparrow with all of those who were there for me from beginning to the end with Gravity. Say a little prayer for sweet Sparrow!

Here are some pictures for you all. I plan on giving her Gravity's bed, I believe, but I do not want to take it off the shelf. I'll have to make up my mind soon.

If you have any advice on making sure she remains healthy before her first vet visit, throw it on me.
(tonight after some fun! 7/21/15)

I gave her a bath with blue Dawn and have been using a flea comb! As far as I can tell, she is flea free! I try so hard not to use sprays and chemicals, as I have one cat who always had a bad reaction, enough to make me very uneasy, so for my older cats I usually do a dawn bath, and rinse with equal parts water and vinegar, dry, and ever since, I've never have a problem with fleas.

Thank you so much. She became tame really quick. She was so thankful. :)

Welcome back! :)

As friendly as she is, it sounds like she was previously around people and got lost or dumped.

The Dawn bath is good. She may have worms, but that can wait for the vet next month unless you see them in her poop or emerging from her rear.

Food, love, and comfort makes a happy kitty. I think little Gravity's bed would be perfect for Sparrow.

She weighs what a four-week-old would weigh. If she is indeed 8 weeks old, she should weigh around two pounds, so she definitely needs to gain weight.

I know you will take good care of this new baby, and I'm sure the baby is already in love with you! :)

What a precious little kitty. I am sure she is very thankful to have someone who will love and take care of her. If I get a vote, I say go ahead and give her the cat bed. It will be well appreciated too.

Thank you for taking in little Sparrow! You are so compassionate and giving :) I do believe in the healing power of pets and I hope Sparrow will help you cope with the loss of little Gravity!

It is hard for me to tell how old she is because she is so tiny, but her eyes are already such a pretty piercing green. I noticed how much she needed to weigh if she is as old as others are saying, and the weight definitely doesn't match up to her age. I told hubby she had the weight of a 4 week old, but he said with the heat and lack of food/water, there's no wonder!  I will be weighing her when I get home. I haven't weighed her in two days because she has been eating great, and has good pees and poops in the litter box. No worms in her poop or coming from her rear, so far it looks like it will be okay for me to wait!

Thank you everyone! <3

Let me know how much she weighs. She doesn't look much over six weeks old to me.

It's so awesome you found Sparrow! I'm sure Gravi must have sent her to you in his place to keep you company.

What sweet looking little kitty you have there!

Sparrow is gorgeous, and the difference in how calm she looks between that first photo and the second says it all.  A gift  for all of you that can help you all heal.

She does look tiny but you are right, the colour of her eyes is well established there, and I am sure you can tell more from how coordinated she is as well.  I really hope Sparrow stays well and you see her grow from strength to strength.  One thing is for sure, there's a huge number of people here who are rooting away for you all and I'm right in there with everyone else.

Thank you so much everyone! She is 19.2oz (544g) tonight. I've been mixing the powdered formula I had left from Gravity that I stored in the freezer and have been mixing it with wet kitten food. She isn't too interested in water just yet, but loves the mix!

She has made a fantastic weight gain already! :)

You can also give her the KMR to drink as milk if she likes it!

Can't wait to see more pictures soon! :)

I am so happy with her weight gain! She's been eating so well.

It was so cute, I've been letting her explore the house. We sleep with our bedroom door closed out of habit and I had already dozed off, and hubby forgot to leave it cracked, so she is was in living room, kitchen and hallway last night. She is a very well-behaved kitten and we live in a small house. Not getting into any mischief as of yet, so I feel safe, and I super kitty-proofed the house. She just does not like being confined at all! Well, hubby got up to go to work and left the bedroom door open. I was still sleeping and he turned the light on to tell me bye and said "Did you go get her??" and I was like, huh? and I look down and she was on the cover in my arms sleeping with me. LOL, I just melted. She is sleeping with me tonight though...she just wanted out  last night like a big girl. I'll be leaving the bedroom door cracked or shut with her in there from now on.

LoL, sounds like she was in your bed and in to your arms super fast!
Cute baby.   And getting to grips with her litter tray - hurray.

Sweet photos.  I just love that 3rd one, it's like she's going "Taa daa!  I am the star of the show, look at me".

Thanks everyone! This big girl just drank out of her little water bowl for the first time! She's been drinking milk replacer and milk replacer/water added to her wet food, but this just finally happened and made me so happy. :)
