On July 12, my wife and I stepped out for a bite to eat. A few blocks from our home, we heard a kitten's cry. We jumped to investigate.

We found a tiny kitten, all alone under bush in a driveway near a busy Brooklyn, NY street. We saw it try to run away but something didn't seem right. He wasn't running as quickly as the kittens I've known.

My wife caught him and picked him up to find he has no use of his front right paw. It's completely limp. The poor kitty just drags it.

We kept him warm and fed (and man did he eat a lot!) and took him to an emergency vet the very next morning. The vet charged us $350 for a check up, flea killer, x-rays and the diagnosis. He also told us that we will have to amputate the limb. He gave us an estimate of $3,500 and told us that we can take a week to see if, maybe, he'll show sign of recovery, but told me it's unlikely because there's no soft tissue swelling or anything that would suggest temporary paralysis.

We decided to give it a week and see if he get's a little better. If he does get better, we will cancel this campain. If he doesn't get better, the kitty and I appreciate your support.

After having asked around, we should be able to have the procedure done for about $1,500 at a good vet. We will lower our goal to $1,900 as soon as we figure out how.
