Monday's Question of the Day - July 20, 2015

Let's keep today's question simple:

How many siblings do you have?  How many cousins? (First cousins!)

I have no blood siblings; but I do have 4 step-siblings.  I'm not particularly close to them; but my one step-sister's kids and mine just love each other. I had 2 other step-siblings from my father's last marriage.  They have been divorced for close to 15 years; but when you share a lot of childhood years with someone, they still feel like family in some regard.  

I have 6 first cousins.  I was very close to 2 of them when we were kids but we aren't close anymore unfortunately.  My DH doesn't have any cousins!  I always thought that was kind of sad.  But then I didn't have blood siblings and I wished for one of those off and on during my childhood.

ETA: I am closer to 2 of my other cousins.  We don't talk daily; except via facebook.  But if I am in town we get to spend a lot of that time together.  One will come visit me on occasion too.  (I felt bad I didn't say this last night when I first posted the question!)

I have no siblings (or step siblings). I have 7 first cousins, but I don't see them much - 2 are in Australia, 2 are in London (and definitely don't get on) and 3 are in Liverpool (who I've never met).

I have 2 siblings and 6 first cousins.

One sibling now (a sister; our older brother died in his mid-thirties) and eight first cousins, four of whom are also second cousins (our fathers were brothers, and our mothers first cousins).

I have one older sister. We get a long very well and she's graced me with 3 beautiful nieces

I don't talk to any of my cousins. The 3 from my dad's side are all deadbeat.. they do not know how to communicate at all.

I have 4 cousins from my mom's side. 2 I do not talk to due to a huge family fight between my mom and her brother. There was no reason for us cousins to stop talking, but they chose to stop talking to us and that's that.

the other two I get along with, but they are much older and we have nothing in common. they have family, I don't. it's hard for me to click with them. I do go to their social outings when they invite me though.

I am the eldest of three with a younger sister and brother. My brother is the youngest.

I'm thinking I have four first cousins, all female. We're not really close, but all of them would be there in a heartbeat if we needed anything. When my father died, and then my mother, they were all right there. I do email regularly with a couple of them.

I grew up with two older sisters and a brother but now it's just me and one sister. My parents also passed away, too, everything changed in 4-1/2 years.

Let's see, for starters there's me and my two younger sisters. I have an older half-sister with whom I share a mother, and three older step siblings (two female and one male). So I'm sure I have lots of cousins but I know of one in particular, whose mother I share a name with. She happens to be great. And man, do I understand anyone who also has a dysfunctional family!

I have two younger half brothers from my dad's side and two older step sisters from my step dad. My brothers and I get along alright, although they're both under 10, so it's hard to really get on with them. My step sisters, on the other hand, are both in their 30's, and now that I'm older we get on pretty well; when I was younger I annoyed them.

I have like 13 cousins on my mom's side (her brother and her sister both have several children). I only really talk to one of my cousins; the rest are friendly with me, but distant.

I forgot about cousins on my mother's side. I don't know any of them or how many.

I have one sister, 3 years younger. (a niece & nephew)

 I have 7 cousins on my dad's side, & my mom is one of 9, so way to many to try & count! I honestly would have to ask my mom to be sure, but think it's somewhere around 19 or 20!

They are spread out all over, so sadly have some cousins I haven't seen since I was really, really little, & don't even know.

 My dad's side (the Italian side) I see my cousins pretty regularly, every couple of years or so,  they will come down from NY to visit.

 The two that live here, (still dad's side) I see occasionally. One of them & I are only 9 days apart, so used to be very close, but she is married now w/ two daughters, so I don't see her that often. Usually when the other cousins come down, or on holidays. 

I have 3 siblings, I'm the oldest of 4.  2 sisters and a brother.  I'm extremely close to all of them.  They all have kids, which I get along with, the oldest is only in their early 20's.  I've been close to them too and that's been a nice bonus since I never had kids.

Cousins are a bust. Both my parents were the baby of the family by a large amount of years.  All my first cousins are substantially older than I am so there was never a real bonding between us.  And, there aren't even that many either.  My mom's sister, only had 1 son, I can't remember the last time I spoke to him - he's kind of anti-social.  Her half-sister didn't have kids.

My dad's siblings well, even though there were a lot of them, not a lot of kids came out of that side and, they are even older than my other first cousin on mom's side.  I haven't had contact with most of them in more years than I can remember either.  My entire extended family is "distant" both emotionally and physically because of this.  Thankfully, I have my siblings or there wouldn't be much of anyone family-wise (both of my parents are long gone also).

I have one sister (younger) and had 9 first cousins.  Two of the cousins are deceased.

I have a half Sister, 7 years older than I.  It feels strange to call her that.  She always lived with me and my Mom.  She is now my best friend, and we even work together so we get to have lunch and breaks together every day!  Pretty sure we are going to grow old(er) and fat(ter) together     We have long term goals involving a farm, tons of animals, no men, and lots of    It's good to have goals, right?!

I have 11 first cousins.  Not close to any of them except 1, who lives right down the street from me!

i have one sister and one brother, both younger than me. my sister and i don't really talk, only once a year or less often. i see my brother about once a month, but am not close to him. as happens with many families, when my dad died there was much unpleasantness between us. this resulted in our relations becoming pretty much permanently strained.

i have three cousins on my mother's side that i grew up seeing occasionally. as an adult i rarely see any of them. i remember visiting cousins on my dad's side once as a child and not again after that.

I have two older brothers.....


As far as cousins go, me! :nod: 7 cousins on my mother's side and 50+ on my father's side. He was one of 13. Don't even get my started on second cousins.

That's probably how many 2nd cousins I have; but I'm not even going to try to figure all that out!!
