been taking care of this orphaned kitten for 5 days already.. how old could it be? Found her in a pile of empty boxes, and didn't saw cat mommy coming back for it so I took home.. getting her to suck on bottle was a struggle.. first few days ate a little bit, and slowly it got used to sucking from the bottle. And yes, I use kitten formula, stimulate her after feeding.. just Sometimes she would chew on the bottle and not drinking the milk. But she is hungry and keep on crying for milk, and I'll pat her gently and then she'll suck.. I want to know if she can start eating solid food? She's starting to show teeth.. and looks like she's starting to pee without stimulation.. should I stop stimulate already? She can also poop by herself..

Is she warm enough?  Her ears look like they are starting to open, I think that makes her almost 4 weeks old.  Kittens cannot digest their food if they or the food is cold.  try warming both up.  I have no idea what the temp is where you are.  You may need a heat source in the nest.

I live in Asia, and yea it's warm for her. We have tropical weather here and it's been quite hot day.. whenever I am feeding her, I always keep the milk warm by putting in a warm glass of water. She starts to lick herself after feeding too.

OK you can try to introduce a little wet food if you think she needs more food right now.  Mix the kitten formula w/the wet food and make a mush.  It will be easier for her to eat.  Put some on your finger and let her lick it off.  You can try to lead her to a plate with a small amount on it but be ready for a mess.

I would say she is between 3 and four weeks. Like the others said, she could try some wetfood just to get use to the taste. I usually will very gently put a pea size bit in my finger and run it along the roof of the mouth. Biting and chewing is foreign to them. (they think suckling is the only way to obtain food) Sure is a cutie!

She looks to be between 4-5 weeks old. She should take to wet food anyday now, plus begin to learn the litter box real soon! Good luck!

She is also very young to be separated from her mama, so you can also offer her kitten milk as a supplement in her bottle for a few more weeks.

She needs to suckle for comfort now if nothing more. Sweet little kitten. Thank you for taking her in!

And he is one good kitten. Always play by himself after feeding. He only cries when hungry. Thanks for the nice comments!

I tried giving him wet food and he straight away eats it! He does make a lot of mess.. but it's worth it. So happy that he's already ready to eat solid food! Can't wait for him to grow up [emoji]128516[/emoji]

Glad to hear he likes his wet food! He will eventually stop being so messy.

Sometimes when he's not hungry he'll meow out loud, and trying to get out from the basket I put him in (and I cover above, in case the dogs wanna disturb him). He does eat regularly, and I still stimulate him to poop and pee.. So I'm wondering what is making him crying out loud? :( He eventually will stop but I don't want to to cry that often.

He does not want to be alone in a basket with a lid on it. Please do not isolate the kitten like this, nor cover the top of the basket. Please try to keep the kitten with you as much as possible. He misses his mother. He now needs human warmth and comfort. Do you have a stuffed toy animal that he can cozy up to in his bed? And some toys to play with?

But he is crying because he does not like being alone.
