So yesterday i found a kitten about 3-4 weeks old he wasn't doing to we'll wouldn't eat unless I used a dropper, and still then I had to force him to eat. I stopped doing this because I read up and he could get puemonya from the way I was feeding him. He also wasn't peeing. So I read up that if I stimulate his genitals with a warm cloth he would pee and he did I was so happy. I also tried wet cat food and he loved it so that was good. But I'm still concerned because I thought at his age he should be able to urinate on his own. Also the last time I used the damp cloth their was a tiny green tint to his urine. I'm hoping it was from his bum but I don't think so. Does anyone have any advice or no what could be going on?? He also hasn't pooped and might be getting a cold because his eyes are glossy.

The Kitten will not pee or poop on his own until he starts eating wet food.  And he isn't quite big enough yet to just eat that.

Can you weigh the kitten?  he needs 8ml/cc of KMR (kitten milk replacer ) per ounce of his weight in a 24 hour period.  He cannot have cows milk.  Goats milk is fine if you have that - full fat, unpasteurized is best.

when you feed him, keep his stomach down and his head up - not on his back like a baby.   Like he is laying by his mom.  the pet stores or possible walmart sell kitten bottles and the KMR.

when he starts with the wet food you'll need to introduce the litter pan.  You can use a disposable pie tin or something similar at first.  It needs to have low sides so the kitten can get in and out.  Do not use clumping litter.  The kittens taste and eat everything and clumping litter can cause a blockage in his intestines.

the tiny green tinge may have been poop.

Sounds like you are doing a good job so far.

How is your kitten doing today? Has he been eating and drinking? How about wee and poo?

Please give us an update.
