So hey there everybody, if any of you remember miss Lilith and her near-death experience last year, we have had a new issue come up with her.

She's had this odd tacky black stuff stuck to her right lower eyelid and a bit on her upper eyelid. There was a scab on upper eyelid near the eyebrow briefly but that has gone away. I put some ointment on her face for a while and now the tackiness has gone away a considerable amount, there are trace amounts left, but no where near as bad as it looked. But now, she's lost a little bit of hair on that side of her face and a bit onto the bridge of her nose. I'm starting to suspect food allergies as clearing up and shifting of symptoms has also gone pretty much hand in hand with an upgrade of diet. However, I just don't know. *--- Also, She 'punched' herself in the eye when she got her collar caught on her decorative food dish holder and panicked before I was able to free her, resulting in her hitting her poor eye off one of the spheres adorning the corners. This happened around the same time the tacky stuff came about. She had a black eye for about two weeks the poor thing :'(   ---*

We have her little buddy TARDIS and he is currently recovering from a chemical burn to his little nose after he had a bad reaction to a ringworm ointment (for cats, dogs, and horses) I put on him after a suspected spot appeared (He was switched to a different ointment, no more issues. Healing great). He's got the same dirty missing hair look, but I at least know where that came from. It doesn't help that he likes to slither around under dusty furniture and entertainment centers and shove his nose is gross places. But I can't same that same for little miss bat cat Lilith. She's currently in the cone of shame as she tries to clean the antibiotic ointment off with her paws and I can't stop her otherwise. She is very, very upset with me. Our new vet refuses to see animals without a consult fee paid at the very least. We asked what it might be and the desk gal merely shrugged and said sorry, she couldn't help.

Lilith isn't at all in any discomfort (other than her cone) and sees fine, eats like a starved cow, and plays quite roughly. No behaviour or appetite changes, nothing. Just some ugly bits of hair loss and sometimes redness if it's been fussed with. The biggest thing is, she's white. pale pink skin. On a black cat, I admit, I would never have noticed any of this stuff on it's face because it really wouldn't have been visible and probably would've run its course without notice. I can't help but fuss with and try to clean her face and she is very much against my doing so, but lets me anyway with a squinty glare and a puffed up tail.

Why does the silly Siamese have to have all of the weird problems?

Is this Feline Acne, Food Allergies, Herpes even? Where would she even get it? She's indoor only, and none of our other cats have it or have had it! Any suggestions/advice would be helpful. I just wanna find out what's up with her.

Before.

Now.

---Please note I was fussing with her eye about twenty minutes or less before this photo, which means - Washed, poked around, and ointment applied. Cone of shame has to be modified with duct tape to fit this tiny siamese head and neck! Poor Lilith is so upset about her situation and wishes I'd leave her face alone. But I'm eternally a worry wort after her original ordeal :( I'm fairly certain the light hair loss is partially (or even mostly) caused by my obsessive cleaning of her little face.

I really think a vet visit is worthwhile. Eyes are too important and too delicate to take any chances with. It's possible her eye got scratched when she whacked it.

Another member barely touched her cat's eye (during a medication battle) - it turned out to have a minor scratch and herpes. The only symptom was a watery eye. If she hadn't taken him to be checked out she'd never have known.

Far better to get it checked and find out what's going on.

Yup, that would be me with Artie. I am  battling Artie with medicaition. Who knows how it happened.

All of a sudden his right eye started tearing really bad. You could see the tears coming down at times. The side of his nose was really wet. I was about to let it go, but I stopped by to talk to a Vet tech to see if there was something I could do. She said I could try some human saline eyes drops, but not to wait long before he is seen by a Vet. I was told that eye issues can worsen really fast. So I took him in.

The Vet put a stain in his eye. They found a tiny little "ditzle"  in the corner of his eye. It is unclear if it is a cornea scratch or a small ulcer from herpes... first I ever heard of herpes though...

I am giving Artie eye drops 3 times a day for 10 days. The tearing has dramatically stopped.

I will have the Vet check his eye out this week with another stain.

There's been no teary eyes or anything like that. Just daily crust in the ducts like she's always had, but darker in the affected eye. But I suppose the vet will have to be consulted if nobody else knows what this is :( I was mainly trying to find out if anyone knew what was going on with her as the last medical visit left us with an almost dead Lilith and a lot more bills that didn't need to happen thanks to that vet constantly misdiagnosing her.

Regardless, this new vet is wonderful, just pricey and the desk girl can be a bit stand offish depending on which one you get.

I just wish she'd stop having weird things happen to her.

I know the feeling :hugs: I just don't feel safe giving other advice for an eye problem. Hope its not too expensive, and that she's better soon :vibes:

Went to go call the vet today as my partner got paid and Lilith trots up to me with both her eyes clear, clean, and gunk free. I've left her face alone since I made this post and haven't scrubbed at it, poked at it, or removed any discharge aside from stuff hanging off her tear ducts (your usual cat sleepies). Her fur appears to be growing back and the redness is pretty much entirely gone, no swelling of irritation and this is the best it has looked in a while.

She's also been super bouncy, she isn't much of a proper siamese when it comes to jumping on stuff and demanding everything, but today she's been up on everything, things she's never climbed before and even hopped up on a shoulder.

Maybe I was really making matters worse by over worrying and stressing her face out by tampering with it. Asked a few cat savvy friends and they say give it a few more days and see how everything looks, because she appears to be recovering.

I'm really mad at myself for prolonging her condition. I should have left it alone a lot sooner. I'll see how she goes for the next few days and reassess the situation. If healthy fur growth continues and her eyes remain hard crusty stuff free, I'll leave her be and maybe get some general purpose eye drops for her one eye that the vet thinks suits best.

Great that she's looking so much better

I'd still recommend a vet check though - just in case there's any residual damage or anything lingering.

Update; Lilith's face is pretty much entirely better. Vet took a look at her, poked around her face, peered in her eyes and said she was good to go, nothing wrong. The vet did not know, however, what the cause of her strange irritation was.

She has most of her incredibly slow growing nose fur back and is back to her elegant fat bellied self! We're thrilled! <3
