That's good. Thank you. Update us when you can!
I don't think steri-strips would work - the fur would prevent them from sticking properly and shaving the area now would be a really bad idea. You said the wounds were not closed, I had the idea of using steri strips (can be purchased over the counter) just to keep them closed so more germs don't get in. @sarthur2 would that be okay to do?
A vet fund is a fantastic advice. I know how you feel P peekaboodusk - I'm a college student and I don't have a "big girl job" yet, but I try to set aside some money from each check. Not an easy thing to do when you live paycheck to paycheck but you would be surprised how it adds up. You could also look around for a different vet. My vet was very up front with me about costs of individual cares and treatments, and this allows me to make plans for how much I should have saved up and at what time. Your kitties are in my prayers! Its clear you care very much for these kittens, and are trying to do the right thing. Hopefully they'll heal up nicely soon so you can stop worrying.
It might be an idea to start a vet fund for them though. At some point one of them is bound to need something treating. I know you're on a tight budget, but even small amounts add up over time. Any amount will be of some help
