My cat is 1,5 years old , she used to be a lap cat. Now she doesnt want to stay on the lap or be petted a lot. She will jump on my lap, for a stroke or two and she jumps of. I go and pet her when she is sleeping and she will let me pet her a little, she will start to purr but stops immediately, it seems as if she has problems purring or breathing through her nose.
She is not the same cat anymore , i dont know what happend to her, she changed her behaviour , she was veryyy attached to me, now she just wants to be on her own, doesnt run after me, doesnt eat much, doesnt purr.. She seems to feel sad, or depressed or something. And Im feeling terrible , she used to help me each time she noiced I was having a panick attack she would come and purr and do everything in her power to calm me down, and it worked every time, but now she just comes near and sits infront of me and just watches with her pupils dilated , and she fals asleep as if she doesnt care anymore.
Thats how I know that she is not the same cat , something is not right. Im so sad, and scared for her well being.

You should take her to the vet to rule out any health issues.  Cats are very good at hiding pain and changes in behavior is one of the first signs of illness.

Yes, your cat sounds like she is ill and not feeling well. She definitely needs to see a vet.

So she might be ill. Oh god :( . At first I thought it might be depression after her kittens went to their forever homes. But I can see that it is not just depression, its more. I will take her to the vet as soon as I can.

I do want to ask you how old were her kittens when you re-homed them and how long have they been gone?

Also, has she since been spayed?

It  could be depression, but the vet is needed to rule out health issues.   Try to stay calm.  Can someone accompany you when you take her to the vet?

They were three months old. She stoped nursing them, they were eating on their own, they were potty trained, they are gone for three or four weeks now. But since I gave away her third male kitten which she was more attached to than the others, she changed completely. Thats why I thought it might be because of the kittens. But now Im not so sure. :(

You are right, even if it is depression I have to take her to the vet, just to be sure. I try my best to not panic, but I cant help it cuz she's my sunshine, I even cry when I have to take her to get her shots.  Yes I will take my mother with me because I cant go out anywhere without having someone with me because of the panic attacks. My mom is by my side and that helps me calm down a little, even though Im 25 years old, I still need my mom to feel secure :(
Thats why I dont want my baby to be sick or depressed or feel bad, cuz I know how I feel, and I dont want to see nobody else feel the same.

It could be depression, but she may have an infection if she's having difficulty breathing through her nose.

Is she spayed?

I Took her twice to get her spayed, but she was still nursing, and her glands were still in function, and the vet refused to spay her. He told me to wait until her body is back to normal again.
And when she stoped nursing she went into season, so then again he couldnt spay her. So Im gonna spay her the following weeks cuz im waiting for the weather to cool down a little to prevent infections. Or I might spay her the day I get to her check up.

Just as long as you don't let her out to get pregnant. Let us know what the vet says. It does sound like she misses her son though.

No no I don't let her out ever, the first time she got pregnant inside the house by my sisters male cat . I won't let it happen again I promise. :)
I think so too, I wanted to be just sadness , because even when she was in pain other times she would come to me and look for comfort, when she was ill or when I was ill her way of getting better was cuddling and kissing eventhough she was ill. So I hope she just misses her baby boy cuz she was very attached to him. I will inform you about the information the vet is gonna give me.  Thanks very much to both of you for the answers
 I hope everything goes well

I was thinking and I started wondering , is it possible that the little kitten gave an upper respiratory infection to my Diva after the little one had her panleukopenia vaccine?  Because I rescued Diva from the streets when she was a little older, so she didnt had her panleukopenia shot.  And I took her kitten to the vet , the kitten had her shot.
So Im thinking is it possible that the shot of her kitten could have infected my Diva the mom of the kitten? Is it possible for the shot to be infectious ?? Or am i being paranoid ?

I took my cat to the vet, her behaviour was changed because of depression and stress. I gave her extra attention and love and extra play time. So she is doing a lot better now.
As for her breathing the vet didnt have the proper equipment to take a look inside her nose, he told me that everything looks normal, and he doesnt know the cause of the changes in her exhaling .
It is very unfortunate that in my state people dont really appreciate animals very much, very few people keep them as pets. So thats why the state doesnt provide proper medical treatment, and proper petstores and veterinary stations. So thats why I cant do more for my queen . I did all i could, the vet did all he could taking into consideration his lack of check up equipment. :( Unfortunately I live in a place were those who love animals and keep them as pets and love them as their children are considered foolish and are laughed at. But I dont care, I just love my babies to death, and nothing is gona change that.
I just wanted to let you know that my queen is much better, and thank you once more for your advices . Best regards from me :)
