I just had a thought - I haven't seen any coloring book that is spiral bound like a notebook.  That would be a nice feature to have so one can take the book outside or on the go and not have to use one hand (or something heavy)  to prevent the wind from blowing pages up and to keep the book laying flat on a table or lap so you can color more easily.

Staedler markers are on my wish list for next time

DUDE!

I was just in AC Moores, and they had a whole bunch of these coloring books! Even to color in your own Monet or Van Gogh art! I picked up a bug themed  (lots of butterflies and dragonflies) for myself! they ranged between $5-$8 each. They also had the gardens book too.

They also had Stained Glass coloring books that would look AMAZING!

Which reminds me.. gotta take my coloring pencils home from work.. lol

There must be something seriously wrong with me, reading adult coloring book got completely different image into my head :D

But this sounds interesting, wish I had more time for that, it does sound something that would calm and relax.

It's actually quite stress relieving. I do a lot of doodling and artwork (like my sister), but my real skill goes into coloring, to the point where I get complimented for it. It's relaxing to just sit down and shade and color. So yeah if you have an hour or something off your time, try it. =D

@MServant   @Lilac-Olligoci

I think it's high time @Lilac-Olligoci  and I combined our art skills and started posting drawings for people to download and color at their leisure. I need a project to keep me busy until school starts!
Ooooh, now there's a nice idea!   I'm sure you'd rather get paid for your hard labour though.

I like the idea of downloading designs though because a lot of the books seem to be too tightly bound to get at some of the areas of designs and the paper isn't always very good quality.  At least if you print them out you can choose the grade of paper to use.

What kind of designs do you colour @Lilac-Olligoci  ?

LoL,  I think it would cost quite a bit to ship furniture from UK to TX US.
I wonder how cat nip does getting through US customs?

Have you tried the water colour pencils you can get in your art work Raksha?   I was looking at them last night and wasn't sure what they would be like to use.  I've always been rubbish at water colour painting and ink colour wash but drawing and painting in other mediums are fine - mostly I love colour which is why I like colouring designs.

I love coloring. It is a great stress reliever. I usually steal pages out of my DD's coloring books and color. It's fun!!!!!

You must have used Amazon Prime. I don't have Prime so I chose the regular free shipping. But it's ok. I'm a patient person and can wait for my goodies

Nice coloring

I heard Copic markers are great but they're ridiculously expensive, like over $100 for a small set

If you want Prime and there is someone in your family who is a student with a .edu email address, you can get Amazon Student Prime. it's $49 a year as opposed to $99. The rate is good for 4 years from the date you start. We have it. The email address can only be used once though so if they have another account, you can't use it.

@MServant   I typically use alcohol based markers, which have a similar appearance to watercolor, but you have greater control and precision in fine areas. I'll have to PM you a few images from my comic book project ^_^

If I choose to use watercolor, it's to produce something like Monet- blurred, but still with distinct form. A project I have in mind, is to draw my friend in traditional Geisha form, use black ink wash to fill in areas, except her skin, hair, and eyes. I have good paper for practice, but if I were to follow through with that project, the size sheet I'd want to use isn't cheap. No truly good art supplies are, unfortunately

Are they Copic?

I have the most frustrating story about those Copic markers: one time I was at a thrift shop that's on my way home and I saw dozens of these "Copic" markers, but they were these softer pastels and such, and I didn't want to be bothered to test if each one still worked so I left them there. Next day I told my story to my co-workers and they freaked! They said "go get them and I will pay you 10 times the price!". Truth be told, they were selling them for about $0.10 dlls
so the coworker was going to give me $1 dll each. So I got off work and the whole tin was gone, someone had bought them all
People still get frustrated by that story, but hey, pastels are not my thing so why would I buy them?

Just how expensive can paper be?
