Gorgeous Butterfly!  Where did you find the template l for it?

I did color an entire page last night on the Creative Cats Book. It is too busy. I need to focus on the entire picture and not trying out the various colors in each area.

I did find the Crayola pencils needing a lot more pressure to obtain a vivid color. I also need to find a simpler book with basic designs...

I do not want to pay for another book. If I could find the template then I could just print it off...

I am not cheap, just trying to conserve money, after my splurge!!

I can't seem to find it again!
I had just googled "Butterfly to color", chose one and copy-pasted it into an MS Word file and printed it out! So many came out!

Conserving money is very important and we need it for our kitties! I don't want to pay 10-20-50 dlls on coloring books when I can spend those 50 dlls and feed my kitties for a whole month!

I'm going to take images of google "to color' and print out the ones I like. I already picked some pretty Sailor Moon ones, a couple of Mandalas, a dragon and a scene. imagine if I had to buy a book for each of the themes when I only want one picture from it. I would be broke!
I tell myself I'm not cheap, rather have smart money managing

If you find the coloring book pages are too busy, try printing your own and you can choose the level of difficulty on each picture. You can just google "Butterfly to color", "cat to color for adults", etc!
Be sure to check the resolution and print away! You can save the pictures on your computer and, if you want, you can color them again... and again...and again!

The Crayola pencils have less pigment than Prismacolors or Crayons, but I find they still have good payout. I have a 12 pc set of those Crayola and I find them very useful to color with them when I want to release some energy. They DO need a lot of pressure to get vibrant color actually on  the paper

Love the butterfly @MagiksGirl, and your approach to getting the design is inspiring.

Funny to read about your creative process as I had just watched a video of Johanna Basford on the BBC News site, talking about how she creates her designs.  Others may find it interesting too:     http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-33230754

I finished colouring a design of hers last night and am really happy with it.

Thank you @MServant! I've been a crafter since I was a very young child. I clearly remember making / hand sewing dresses for my Barbie dolls at an age as young as 5-6. And loving to draw ever since I could pick up a pencil
Since I didn't grow up in a very well off family, I had to learn very young how to be thrifty and resourceful to get what I wanted to accomplish done.

Her drawings seem really fun as well! If you have a chance and feel up to it, I'm sure we would all like to see your drawing!

@MagiksGirl  , I doubt anyone would like to see my drawings
 - not that I've done many recently, but as for the colouring I did last night I have taken some photos but not uploaded to my computer yet.  When I do I will definitely share.  It's quite sensible, tasteful colours for me but that seems to be my way of late.  One thing I really liked in the Johanna Basford video was how she talked about the individuality of choice in colouring, and some of the clips showed her designs completed in quite unusual choices for the subject matter.

I would! I'm sure many of us would love to see your drawings!

That's one of my favorite parts of art. You can interpret one thing as many ways as there are people. While I was coloring for the first time after several years, I noticed a pattern in my color choices and did an inward look at the reasons for my choice of colors and their positioning. It was very insightful.

I just printed off a bunch of free adult coloring pages for a prize thing I'm working on for my walk team
Try this butterfly: http://www.coloring-pages-adults.co...es__coloring-adult-difficult-big-butterfly__1 And try these: http://www.colorpagesformom.com/coloringpages/butterflies/

My Prismacolors are being shipped out today
About time. There's no tracking info yet but Amazon says the pacakge will arrive by this Friday. I'm doubtful the package will arrive in less than 2 days but we'll see.

It's like cookbooks. I take cookbooks out of the library and I may only find one or two recipies in the entire book that I would ever make. It's a good thing library books are free and returnable. Too bad libraries don't have coloring books on loan.

I plan to make copies of the images in the books so I can color them in later after I'm done with the book
Maybe I'll color the images in differently the second time or use markers instead of pencils. And there are definitley lots of coloring pages you can print off the Internet. I use "printable adult coloring pages" as a search. Some of the images I printed out looked ifne online but printed out poorly. You can see the pixels and the image looks fuzzy overall.

The books will arrive today instead of tomorrow
I just checked the UPS status and it says "out for delivery"
The pencils are expected to arrive tomorrow. I'm not sure who the carrier is. The order says "AMZL-US"

Who knew coloring books were something to get excited over?

I know, I have been trying to color every day, since I received the pencils. My issue is, the shoulder hurts to keep it in that position for so long. I want to keep going, but am hindered by the position. I am at the kitchen table doing this. I will work it out though.

I am so surprised Artie is not investigating!

I have such a mess on the table! I have the pencils in color groups and the sharpener next to it. I was thinking he would be in the middle of it all! But he is not. Artie is ignoring the entire situation!  Maybe his previous owners were colorers? or had kids who colored at the table. I a fearful of keeping things spread out on the table when I am not using them. I do not want Artie to suddenly 'investigate" the territory.

I should be getting my prismacolors today, I think. This is the longest time I have ever waited for a shipment from Amazon. I wonder why? IS this possibly a new adult Addiction?

I am getting bored with the crayola pencils. Just not bright enough for my liking. And I want more shades, for different effects.  I am not artistic or creative at all, but I am getting addicted to my new pastime!

I did get a reply from the complaint I lodged with the seller of the crayola pencils. As usual, they were shipped within the updated (extended) timeframe window which Amazon had to extend, they are sorry I was not pleased, if there is anything they can do to help me, let me know, etc, etc.......the corporate line!

So I got no where with complaining. This company supposedly has a good reputation on Amazon......who knows what happened..

I need to get going...appointment coming up soon..have to get ready.

The good news: my package was delivered at 8:18 am
The bad news: I'm stuck at work for another few hours

I know that Emma will sit on my books... as I'm coloring
Leroy will try to eat the pencils and the books and pencil shavings in the sharpener
Artie is well behaved compared to my two

Adult coloring books and pencils and markers are a big hit right now so retailers are having a hard time keeping items in stock. But a place like Amazon should be able to get orders out in a reasonable amount of time.

I had to complain to an Amazon seller once. I was sent expired CET toothpaste and not just a few days expired but a few months
The seller was apologetic and sent me replacement toothpaste at no charge.

Did you leave a seller review? You can do that and let others know about your experience.

How's everyone's coloring going?

I decided to make a coloring club with my siblings! We all live together, so we had the appointment yesterday at 8:00 in the kitchen but we failed to make it!
my brother didn't have time to get a coloring book or pencils, my sister fell asleep and I didn't print out any drawings so it was a mess!
We decided to make dinner and ate some nice shrimp chop suey

I will print out some pictures today and buy some colors for my sis and bro, I hope this time we can make it!

Nice one! Hope your next meet is more successful!

As for those comments about cats interfering...  @Artiemom  , all I can say is you are very lucky.  If you look not too closely at some of the pictures I posted earlier you will see my little 'helper' getting his little chops round one of the books.

Some great mandalas in that last link @MagiksGirl  .  This thread is getting to be quite a resource, what with the information on books, pens and pencils, and now the free links to designs for printing as well.

I did leave a review on the site. I also looked at my suggestion. I was shocked to see that a couple coloring books are sold out!! Wow! It must be a 'new in thing"!!!

The prismacolors have not arrived yet!! Still saying, "on it's way"....can't believe it.

It will be just in time. I found out I will be having the surgery on my face next friday!!
