Did my vet do this right?

Well, let's hope the kittens are fine, and I have an inkling they will be, but I know you are anxious because of what the vet did.

You're seeing milk spots and dried milk and this is very good news! It means that her body is preparing for birth soon.

Does she show an interest in her nest in the closet?

She hid all day so I just now got to introduce her to the box. She immediately jumped out, but I stayed in the closet petting her so she'd get used to it. Then I put her food and water in there hoping it would make her more comfortable. I agree that the Dr provably was off on her date. I counted back and we have had her for 39 days. there's really no telling how far along she is. We will just take it a day at a time!

The best thing you can do for her is not to get stressed. If you are stressed then she will start getting stressed. That will upset her process and when she is upset she will not have her babies as the natural instinct is to wait until the stress settles down or she feels safe. As much as possible you need to treat her as normal as possible. check out the links I sent earlier. If you have more questions or have to express yourself feel free to vent if you need here to not stress you baby.

After realizing that the vet was probably off on the delivery date I've calmed down. Lol! I also got to lay with Poof today and feel lots of movement so I'm good! She's gaining weight again and seems happy so I'm happy. We are going camping this weekend and I'm praying that she doesn't have them when we're gone. I've read through the links ( thank you for them!) and feel pretty confident that things are going to go beautifully! Can't wait to see the kittens! Here's some Poof pics!

Wonderful news! It doesn't sound like she's quite due yet. Do you have someone popping in to give her wet food while you're gone?

I'm glad she and the little ones are doing well. I was worried about them. She is a very pretty cat.

We have kitties!!! She had them tonight while I was at softball :( So I missed it, but honestly I think she planned it that way. At least that's what I'm telling myself. There are two of them! She ate one placenta but not the other. She didn't even cut the umbilical cord on the one. I cut it, but left it long since kitty was nursing and I didn't want to pull her off the nipple. How soon do I weigh them? Should I wait until tomorrow? Right now they are latched on and she is curled around them very tightly. She didn't seem to mind when I touched them to find the cord.

One more question.... She had them behind my bedroom door. Should I move them to the box?

Make sure you keep the area where the kittens are quiet and do not let a lot of people around the box. Keep food and water and litter box close. Also make sure the temperture is not to cold. If you are not sure place either a hot pad under a blanket and to one side of the box and set it on low or sock with rice that has been warmed in a microwave. Here is some links:

The kittens should gain about 6 to 10 grams a day depending on the size of the kittens. Are you sure she has delivered all of her kittens? It could be possible that she will not deliver all of the kittens at one time.

Yes move them to the box place the box in a closed off room and only you enter if all possible.

Yes, you should move them to the nest. Mom should be fine with that. Congrats and you did a nice job with the cord :).

Thank you for the articles! I've read most, if not all. So many articles seem to contradict each other and it makes me feel better to get the advice from people that have been in my shoes. I went in to move them and every time I'd start to touch one she'd move so she was wrapped around them. She made it very clear she didn't want me to touch them. I didn't push the issue, but I'm worried that my son will barge in and hit them with the door. I also don't want to make her mad. I'm torn.

The way she is laying there really isn't anyway for me to do that. I decided that I would just close and lock the door for the night so then he would have to knock (makes me a little nervous, but I think that is just my paranoia) but then realized I'd be locking her away from her litter box. So last resort is I sleep in my sons room so he doesn't need to come find me. I'm hoping tomorrow she'll let me move them.
