My kitten Luna has been leaving small poop pellets every where she goes. She also constantly has small amounts of poop coming out of her anus. She's messing up the furniture and leaving stains everywhere! How can I get her to stop? (She isn't constipated, she goes to the bathroom 3-4 times a day)

She needs to see a vet. What you're describing is definitely not normal.
I have been to the vet recently and told him what was going on. He said that it wasn't a big deal and that I just needed to clean her bottom more often since she's only  2 months. I don't know what else to do because all the vets in our area are not that professional/experienced.

How long have you had her? Kittens that leave their mum too young can take longer to learn how to keep themselves clean etc.

So when you say goes 3-4 times a day, do you mean in the litter box? Is it a normal looking amt? Healthy looking poop?

What are you feeding the kitten? For how long?

@catwoman707  Yes, 3-4 times a day in the litter box. It's really dark brown but well formed, the litter sticks to it but it isn't hard, more on the soft side.

I've been feeding Luna Royal Canin Kitten dry food everyday with Royal Canin kitten digestive health wet food once every week. I'm pretty sure the wet food is for adult cats but that's what the vet recommended so I went with it.

Thanks in advance :)

I apologize for the delay in replying! So many cat issues and drama fills my daily life, especially now in full swing of kitten season!

I actually am a huge fan of the dry babycat, one step under what you feed. (age-wise)

Their ingredients are very close but babycat doesn't include corn gluten meal I believe it is, and has chicken by products meal first then brewer's rice, in your version the 2 ingredients are switched around.

So all in all it's decent food you are feeding, his stools sound perfect, perhaps before you got him, he had diarrhea for a while before it was cleared up, which sometimes will cause them to not constrict the anus muscle enough, but in time it goes back to normal.

This is the only thing I can think of, besides him getting better at grooming himself, which he will by the time he is 3 mos.

@catwoman707 Thank you so much for your reply, I really appreciate all your help.

Luna did have worms which caused her to have diarrhea for a few days before it cleared up, also switching foods might have played a factor.

You put my mind to ease, thank you so much again.
