Trying to rescue my 2 yr.feral cat.

An alledged friend let my cat out b4 i moved.I have been feeding & trying to catch him but to no avail due to 3 neighbors harrassing me to leave him alone.Some would even take his food away.Today a neighbor had a golf club.Am afraid he may try to kill my cat.Bought some mace should i see that club again.Anybody know how to get these people off my back.Not their property even.Saw the owner in a store & he didn't tell me to quit even though i wouldn't & let him know that.He doesn't live there,just tenants.

Have you set a humane trap lured with yummy stinky food?  If now how are you trying to catch him?
