So often we complain about our DHs or SOs. I thought maybe we could start a thread with something nice to say about them.

Yesterday Dear Richard took a vacation day to work on some chores around the house.

Our little coffee store in town went out of business; they just couldn't get the business they wanted and they couldn't afford the high rent. So they closed their doors, but opened a shop in another town to the south of us. Well, I love Second Cup's Premium Arabica k-cups and I've been making do with Green Mountain Nantucket Blend. So Rick went down to the new store to see if they had Arabica. They didn't have it in stock (it's a very small store and they don't have a lot of k-cup varieties in stock there), but they ordered two boxes for me and it's supposed to come in today. I'm going down at lunch to pick them up. But so that I didn't have to drink Nantucket Blend anymore, he bought a few loose k-cups of Premium Arabica for me. Believe me, as soon as I had my sip this morning, I could taste the difference. Such a good coffee.

So then, I forgot my lunch yesterday. I texted Rick and asked him to please bring my lunch up IF he was going to be in the area anyway. But he brought it up because he didn't want me to starve.
And when I opened my lunch bag yesterday, there was a Premium Arabica k-cup inside.

He's a sweetie. I'm going to keep him.

What has your DH or DO done for you lately that makes you feel special?

He has taken over kitchen duty since I cut my finger on Saturday. My instructions are to keep the stitches dry, etc. I have had him thirty seven years and yes, I have decided to keep him long ago. :lol3:

Rick knows the way to your heart Pam!

Yesterday I had my BFF's kids here for the day.  BFF is in the hospital 2 hours away getting a stem cell transplant so her in-laws and husband are missing a lot of work while she is away.  They needed a hand yesterday and I was happy to give one.  But that meant getting up 2 1/2 hours earlier than normal.  I'm normally one you have to drag out of bed and I can be a downright grump without even remembering what I've said.  DH knows all this.  He was up for work and had the coffee ready for me.  A lot of the time on weekends or if he is on vacation; he brings me my coffee in our bedroom.  He also knows how to wake me up without bringing out the grump.

Hey, how is your GF doing, BTW? Is she doing Ok? I hope she's doing well. Your DH knows how to treat you right, that's for sure sure. Rick does not give me coffee in bed. No way. You lucky lady.

I went down to the coffee shop today over lunch to pick up my k-cups. They have a cat there! A beautiful light grey tuxedo baby with gorgeous white socks . Her name is Betty Boots. Very appropriate for a tuxie, I think.

My animals are my SO since DH passed away.

Lilith let me give her some of my grilled chicken (plain) on Monday. She makes sure that i don't forget how to share and play nice with others.

Sophie has been coming to snuggle with me in the early mornings instead of just demanding her breakfast.

Henry is making great progress with coming out of his tote, using his tree and even coming out of his room a bit. He's getting more and more affectionate every day

Bailey the 13 year old (this month) Border Collie hasn't peed on the rug in a while.

it's the little things in life.

Oh well I just don't know where to start about my SO.  I have some health problems, one is not walking very well and my breathing isn't always that great either.  There have been many times when we made plans and because of me we had to cancel. He has never complained about it.

He takes care of me in every way he can.  When my back is so bad that I can't bend over to feed Autumn, he takes care of her too.  Russ is just too good to be true and I love him for it.

We are not married nor do we live together but he spends a lot of time here.  He is just the best and always here when I need him.  Don't know what I would do without him.  He's also a lot of fun to be around, I just couldn't ask for more.  I did good.

She is getting better every day.  The boredom is one of the hardest parts.  She's anxious to be home with her babies.  Including their puppy.
Her lil guy is sick today; so now her husband even has to keep distance from the hospital.  I just tell her that i'd hate for her to go home just to get sick and end up back up there for who knows how long.  She's using movies and her sewing machine to keep herself occupied.

She's the one you were cooking some meals for? I'm so glad she's doing so well. I'm sure she's bored out of her mind by now, but it's for the best that she stays where she's at. Continued
that she recovers without any problems.

I'm in the same boat, sort of.  I have mobility problems due to 3 surgeries on my knees over the year.  Arthritis has set into the right one and well, you know. Stiffness and pain are a way of life.

My BF is really great about doing a lot of things around the house which are just too difficult for me now.  Changing bed sheets, cleaning litter boxes, laundry, etc.  I do plenty still but those things are rough due to bending or stairs with heavy things (in fact the basement is kind of off limits for me lol).

I can forgive many of his small annoyances because he's so incredibly helpful and even doesn't complain about having to do it.  Ok, maybe the litter box but who could blame a person for not liking that task?

I have been dealing with this cut finger and stitches. Today hubby got out the Electrolux, removed all the rugs and things in the way. He did the whole house. That was a tremendous help to me as I am still having to be very careful with this finger. The one thing I don't want is to reopen this cut. :lol3: Yes, I do think I will keep him.

Come on now. Those of us who have a hubby or significant other, let's give credit here if there is any to give.

How did you cut your finger? Is it doing any better?

Well, this past weekend, Rick mulched out the front flowerbed (well, most of it. We ran out of mulch and need to get another couple of scoops). While I did help a bit with the weeding, he did most of it. And he did a good job. He also sanded down and stained the new bedroom windows. And put a coat of varnish on them too. He's still trying to strip down the front door and get all the old paint off. He had a three-day weekend and worked around the house the entire 3 days. He said he had to go back to work yesterday to rest!

Yeah, I think I would keep a husband who works like that too. I love it when they do take pride in how things around the house and yard look.
