Hi there,

My kitten had her spay 6/26 and I adopted her 7/4. Her incision has healed (you can hardly see it - it runs vertical towards my thumb)  but there is a knot left. She has been licking like mad and the knot is now loose. I called the vet who did her surgery and they said to bring her in and they will deal with it but I don't want to drive 2 hours away. I just wanted to cut it off myself but they managed to get me worried saying a vet had to do it but if she played with it further it would be ok?!? Shall I just snip and gently pull?

Thoughts or suggestions welcome.

Thanks!

I would take her to the vet and let them take care of it just to be on the safe side. I know it's an extra trip but you just never know. It's better to be safe than sorry.

I've always snipped them myself. They have to tell you to bring her to the vet for legal reasons but if you see a safe and easy way to snip it yourself go ahead.
